I'm almost done with the reaction to today's Premier League games. If you're still here, you might want to bail out now and head over to catch the last 20 minutes of Bournemouth v Manchester United. The home side currently lead 2-1.

  3. Manager reactionpublished at 18:55

    Crystal Palace 1-0 Southampton

Saints' boss Ronald Koeman is pleased with his side's spirit and is confident they can get back to winning ways soon.

"I’m disappointed about the final result, but not in the performance of the team. The wind made it very difficult to play our football.

"Maybe it suited Palace more because they play more direct than we do, but we controlled it for 20 minutes but then they scored.

"We were ther better team in second half and dominated, and we’re disappointed not score in the last seconds.

"Maybe we lack a bit of confidence, but the boys showed good character. It’s now four or five games where we don’t win, I’m a little bit worried about that but not worried about the spirit.

"It will come, we will win and we have a nice one next week."

"Clean sheets win you games. Sam Allarydce will tell you that, Tony Pulis will tell you the same.

"This solid defensive play is working wonders for Watford."

  5. Man City performance awful - Hartpublished at 18:50

    Manchester City 2-1 Swansea City

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart made a series of superb saves against Swansea this afternoon as the home team struggled and the England stopper accepted his side were extremely lucky to take three points.

"It was a big win considering we were awful," said Hart.

"I thought Swansea played really well considering the difficult circumstances.

"When we play well, I am a bit of a bystander so it was good for me to be involved.

"It's a good sign to not always play particularly well and be top of the league, qualify as group winners in the Champions League and to be in the semi-finals of the League Cup.

"To a man, we can all improve."

  6. Manager reactionpublished at 18:46

    Manchester City 2-1 Swansea City

Bafetimbi Gomis' late equaliser looked certain to earn Swansea a point at Manchester City and their caretaker boss Alan Curtis was understandably low after Yaya Toure's shot deflected in off Kelechi Iheanacho to give the home team victory.

"We certainly deserved to get something from the game," said Curtis.

"I guess that's the difference between teams at the top of the league and the teams at the bottom. That's the standard we have to set between now and the end of the season.

"Part of the problem of the last 11 or 12 games is we haven't scored enough goals. It was a terrific finish from Bafetimbi - he has come on and shown what he can do. He has to repeat that.

"We have 100% belief that we can get out of trouble. We showed today we are still a good team with very good players."

No doubt about where to start in English football's fourth tier.

Northampton overcame Luton 4-3 in a thrilling seven-goal encounter at Kenilworth Road. That result - combined with Oxford being held to 1-1 draw at home by Carlisle and Plymouth losing 2-1 away to Cambridge - sent the Cobblers two points clear at the top.

Down at the bottom, York replaced Yeovil at the foot of the table as they came a 2-1 cropper away to Bristol Rovers and their relegation rivals secured a 2-2 draw at home to Barnet.

  10. We showed we can fight too - Florespublished at 18:31

    Sunderland 0-1 Watford

Watford head coach Quique Flores: "We started really well and for the first 25 minutes we did well with the ball and created several chances.

"Towards the end we had to defend well and we showed everyone that we can fight too.

"It was very satisfying to see - everyone has talked a lot about the strikers but what we do when we don't have the ball is important too."

The League One leaders won 3-0 at Gillingham to temporarily go four points clear of Coventry, who play tomorrow.
