    Stoke 2-0 Man City

    Manchester City

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart: "It was a disappointing start and we could not recover from it. We didn't play well today. A few of the lads are feeling it from the games we are playing but that is not an excuse. We need to put in at least a 7/10 performance every game and we are not doing that.

"Vincent Kompany is a massively important part of our squad but we have a good squad here. After a 2-0 loss it is easy to say, but we will stick together as a squad. Conditions were tough but that's English football. Nobody was able to walk off the pitch with an excuse, both teams played on it and Stoke deserved to beat us today.

"We can't accept how we played today."

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini: "We had a lack of reaction, too many games for the same players.

"We defended very badly but we also had not too many chances to score. We are playing with 13 players in all competitions. It was a defeat.

"I always miss important names, but you have to play with the players you have. We must continue with the same 11 or 12 players, We wait for the medical report."

    ...and out they come.

Around the country the 15:00 GMT kick-offs clock on as the teams emerge and the referees pluck the matchball off the pitchside plinth.

  7. Pragmatic Van Gaalpublished at 14:55

Man United v West Ham (15:00 GMT)

    Martin Keown
Former Arsenal defender on Final Score

"He wants to win his first trophy. This pragmatic approach today is what is needed, but they need to be careful because there is no Rooney. Is it a better team without Rooney? If they do well today he may stick with this team."

  8. 'Man Utd for the title? A hollow victory'published at 14:55 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2015

Man Utd v West Ham (15:00 GMT)

    Garth Crooks
Former Spurs striker on Final Score

"I've never written Manchester United off. The only criticism I have is that they are incredibly dull to watch.

"It's quite tragic when you have such exciting players playing with such a lack of adventure.

"And if they were to win the title, it would really be a hollow victory. Because there's nothing for their fans to shout about."

  10. 'We deserved it'published at 14:54

    Stoke 2-0 Man City

    Stoke City

Stoke manager Mark Hughes: "It was a great performance by the guys. Each and every one of them put in a high level performance and a consequence of that we were able to win against the team top of the pile.

"We played with an energetic three in midfield, we were on the front foot in midfield and we unsettled them. We always had a threat up front.

"We haven't played Bojan right up front before but I have been close to doing it in the past. We needed to retain possession in key areas and the three up top allowed us to do that.

"We looked at all of Manchester City's previous games and we look for flaws we can exploit. We know we can ask questions of the best and we were able to do that this afternoon. We deserved a fantastic result."

  11. MOTD commentator's viewpublished at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2015

    Watford v Norwich (15:00 GMT)

    Simon Brotherton
    MOTD commentator at Vicarage Road

"Norwich had Watford's number last season, beating them 3-0 home and away as they fought for promotion from the Championship.

"Yet Watford go into this fixture in a far more favourable position and have won three of their last five games, including last week at Aston Villa.

"In contrast, Norwich have won only one of the last nine and sit just three points above the relegation zone, six points adrift of this weekend's opponents.

"I saw Norwich work hard to beat Swansea 1-0 the other week, but this will be my first visit of the season to Vicarage Road and I'm keen to see first hand the work being done by Quique Sanchez Flores."

Jamie Vardy has been writing his name in as many record books as autograph books this season.

The Leicester striker has already set a new Premier League record with goals in 11 straight games.

Today, away to Swansea, he is aiming to match the streak of Irishman Jimmy Dunne - the only man to have ever scored in 12 top-flight games in a row. Dunne's red-hot run was back in the 1931-32 season.

    As I'm sure you remember...

"They have not been playing well away from home and they are not playing like champions, there is a casualness about them. For me, it may have gone now."

  16. 'We have a lot of potential'published at 14:44

    Stoke 2-0 Man City

Stoke midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri: "We tried this [partnership with Marko Arnautovic] all week in training so we of course are happy that we scored in the game like this. It is important that we play how the coach wants and today we see that from the first minute we want to win the game. The two goals were very nice.

"We have a very good team, we can win against every team in the Premier League. This year the league is weird, every team can lose. We must work hard together and that is the key for the season. We have a lot of potential."

    Stoke 2-0 Man City

    Pat Nevin
BBC Radio 5 live at the Britannia Stadium

"We've seen great confidence coming through this entire Stoke team - they will remember today. I would be very surprised if they don't go on to finish well up in the top 10. If everybody stays fit, they could challenge for Europe.

"Meanwhile, it's tough times for Manuel Pellegrini and Manchester City. There were a lot of failures in that team today."

Job's a good un for Stoke.

Manchester City never really turned up today and could slide from top to fourth by tonight.
