Games off, long trips and shock results - we want to hear the best and worst of your Boxing Day stories

Craig Wiseman: Boxing Day 2013, sat with 1000 Plymouth Argyle fans watching the mighty Greens win 3-2 against Oxford! Oxford is a great away game and the win just made it all the more special!

Robert Siney: On the boxing theme, when celebrating a goal for Morecambe away at Southport many years ago the excited goalscorer accidentally punched my mate right in the face as we tried to join in. Made me happier than the goal.

  14. 'In a very bad period'published at 10:13

Stoke v Man Utd (12:45 GMT)

Louis van Gaal says Manchester United can change their fortunes around but must make an "immediate improvement".

The under-pressure United boss walked out of a news conference after less than five minutes on Wednesday, having asked reporters in attendance: "Has anybody in this room not a feeling to apologise to me?"

United have gone six games without a win - including three successive losses - and Van Gaal said he is experiencing his worst period at Old Trafford.

"There's no disguising the fact we're in a very bad period. Things must begin to improve immediately," said the Dutchman.

"We can turn this situation around. The best way to come out of this period and improve is for us all to stick together."

First up on today's Premier League smorgasbord is Manchester United's trip to Stoke.

This could otherwise be described as the game that United boss Louis van Gaal dare not lose.

Right now, though, with United on a miserable run of form of having not won in six games, that is anything but certain.
