    Slovakia v England (20:00 BST)

Who will England and Wales play in the last 16 when/if they qualify? The truth is, well, we're not actually sure.

    Here's what we do know:

The Group B winners - so hopefully either England or Wales - will play a third-place team from either Group A (Albania), Group D (unconfirmed, but one from Czech Republic, Croatia or Turkey) or Group C (unconfirmed, but one from Germany, Poland or Northern Ireland).

That depends on the combination of the four groups which provide the third-placed sides.

The Group B runners-up will play the Group F runners-up - either Hungary, Iceland, Portugal or Austria.

Third place in Group B? They are likely to play the Group C winners (Germany?) with an outside chance of meeting the Group D winners (Spain?). If they have done enough to qualify as one of the four best third-placed teams.

Got it? All will be revealed over the next few days...

If the current exponential rate of growth in baking in the UK continues - the BIGGEST show on TV remember - then it could well be our national sport in 10 years or so.

Lee has stolen a march with this top effort. Some of the piping is a bit sketchy but the shirts are still better made than the Swiss ones last night.

I can see no trace of nerves in Roy Hodgson's face as he exchanges pleasantries with the match officials. Gary Neville is swaying from one foot to the other, he looks tense. England on the verge of the knockout stage.

  7. Last time we metpublished at 18:41 British Summer Time 20 June 2016

    Slovakia v England (20:00 BST)

England last met the men from Slovakia in an international friendly in March 2009, a 4-0 win which I have no memory of but which contains possibly the greatest substitution chain in England's international history.

Emile Heskey was replaced by Carlton Cole, who was then replaced by Peter Crouch. All by the 35th minute.

    Slovakia v England (20:00 BST)

Here comes Roy Hodgson for his pre-match inspection. A cursory wave to the fans, chewing on a boiled sweet. He's loving it. Gets an update from lieutenant Neville and corporal Watson. Hodgson passes comment on the surface, asks Neville something or another, shuffles his feet across the turf and then heads back in.

    Job done.

Gary Neville looks like he could still play to me. Pumped.

  11. Hodgson's biggest gamble?published at 18:33 British Summer Time 20 June 2016

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer in Saint-Etienne

England manager Roy Hodgson is expected to make six changes tonight, including resting captain Wayne Rooney. Surely there is risk in this?

England need a point to reach the last 16 and a win to top the group - so there is still work to be done, not the time for mass experimentation.

If England fail to win and land themselves with tougher opponents in the last 16, Hodgson can expect some very justified criticism. If England win it is another gamble that has paid off.

More than 300,000 fans are playing the Euro 2016 Predictor game on the BBC Sport website and users have shown their backing for the home nations before tonight’s crucial fixtures.

Some 37% of players in the game have predicted England will win 2-0 against Slovakia, 23% think England will win 2-1 and 12% fancy a 1-0 victory for England.

Meanwhile, 29% of users have predicted Wales will beat Russia 1-0, 27% of users think it will be a 1-1 draw, and 19% think Wales will triumph 2-1.

If you want to compare your scores to the BBC Sport talent, Alan Shearer and BBC Radio 5 live’s Ian Dennis are joint top of the BBC talent table with 330 points, which puts them joint 4,938th in the overall BBC Sport league, while Mark Lawrenson is in third place with 310 points.

England are not yet over the line, but thanks to that late Daniel Sturridge winner against Wales they are in good shape.

A point tonight would seal their passage into the last 16. But even a defeat is likely - likely - to see them through as one of the best-placed third-placed sides.

    Slovakia v England (20:00 BST)

    Danny Murphy
Former England midfielder on BBC One

Roy Hodgson and his staff will be quietly pleased with what they have seen from England in the first two games.

We have been especially good in attack and for all the talk about how vulnerable we are defensively, we have looked as solid as any team that has impressed me so far.

Now we need to go and top it off with a win and, just as importantly, another good performance to give us that extra bit of confidence going into the next round.

Slovakia are very much ready to stick a spanner in the works tonight. They will qualify with a win and will finish second with a draw if Russia beat Wales.

However, Slovakia would definitely be eliminated in fourth spot if they lose and Russia win.

FUN FACT - I lived in Morley. For about 18 months. It was alright.

England will win the group if they beat Slovakia, and will qualify even with a draw. However, in that instance they will be knocked off top spot if Wales beat Russia. If England lose, they could finish as low as third.

Wales will go through with victory against Russia, who are bottom of the group but could still qualify with a win. A draw would be enough for Wales if Slovakia do not beat England. If Wales lose, they may finish bottom.
