What a minute that was. Chris Smalling's error was huge, but so was the save to deny Nathaniel Clyne. He was into the box, tight angle, but his his effort really well. Good game!

There's no communication between Chris Smalling and Joe Hart. Smalling thinks he is on his own. Slovakia should have scored.

Smalling should have been told to flick it, glance it on, whatever. You don't expect no communication at this level.

CLANGER! Out of nothing a moment of real danger for England! Chris Smalling chests down a cross when he really didn't have time and Joe Hart somehow scrambles it away!

Then at the other end Nathaniel Clyne forces Matus Kozacik into a save!

It is all England. The tempo is good. It is just that final ball. You don't want to force it though. There's not enough width, other than Clyne, and it suits Slovakia.

Ryan Bertrand goes into the book for pulling down Peter Pekarik. Slovakia load up the box...

That sounds brilliant! Trust the Dutch.

England well on top again at the start of this second half. Nice tempo to the game. Jack Wilshere and Daniel Sturridge do look a touch rusty though. A few misplaced passed, a few heavy touches.

Gary Cahill looks to be back to full fitness as he gets away from a man pressing him. Cahill was down and out in the first half. He has been having injections in his hip by all accounts.

Nathaniel Clyne runs with the ball down the right but he runs into pressure and loses out.

Eric Dier escapes from a cul-de-sac very neatly to start another England attack. Adam Lallana is isolated on the right though and it breaks down.

England can't think about what happened against Russia. They have got to keep doing what they are doing and not let Slovakia back into it, like they did against Russia. They can't drop off the pace and a bit deeper. It's not easy to put the ball in the back of the net, but they have just got to have a bit more quality and composure.

What's all this talk about dominance?! Means nothing without the finish! Poor movement off the ball, all just standing about waiting! Nearly every cross or set play has been deflected by the first defender... Where's England's hunger... Do they think we're winning 3 nil! Come on Roy; Kick some bottom, get em' playing, we need this!

England had 10 shots on goal in that first half. A matter of time? Or will Roy make some more half-time alterations?

England can be pleased by the way they have dominated the game. But the finishing has to be better. Some have been snatched at because they have not had time to pick a spot. There's only one team on the front foot and it is England.

England have pushed them right back. Slovakia don't want to come out.

  20. Runners up?published at 20:53 British Summer Time 20 June 2016

IF England finish second - which they will do if it stays like this - they would play the runner-up of Group F. That's the group of Portugal, Iceland, Hungary and Austria.

    Portugal? Penalties? Oh dear...
