  1. YELLOW CARDpublished at 52 mins

    Wycombe 1-1 Aston Villa

Aaron Amadi-Holloway has his name taken for brutally assaulting Micah Richards with his hip.

Another questionable call - it has not been a good start to the half from referee Michael Oliver so far.

Ashley Westwood was also booked for the penalty incident by the way. Whether it was for the challenge or the criticism aimed the ref's way I'm not sure.

  2. Fast start for Wycombepublished at 13:56 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January 2016

    Wycombe 1-1 Aston Villa

    Clive Allen
BBC Radio 5 live at Adams Park

"You don't want to make mistakes at the beginning of a second half and that was a crazy challenge from Aston Villa midfielder Ashley Westwood, he is still talking to the referee Michael Oliver about the decision.

"It has been a fast start for Wycombe, like it was in the first half. There is an urgency about Villa, they just need to settle down."

  3. CLOSE!published at 51 mins

    Wycombe 1-1 Aston Villa

A hanging cross to the far post, Sam Wood can see it all the way and the Wycombe man volleys clean past Mark Bunn.

It is 2-0 all the way, but for Jores Okore who is back on the line to hack clear.

That was very nearly advantage Wycombe.

  4. goal

GOAL - Wycombe 1-1 Aston Villapublished at 49 mins

    Joe Jacobson

This was one of those penalties that looks cucumber-cool - as long as the goalkeeper goes the wrong way.

Luckily for Joe Jacobson, Mark Bunn guesses left as his side-foot spot-kick slides home in very reachable range the other way.

  5. PENALTY TO WYCOMBEpublished at 48 mins

    Wycombe 0-1 Aston Villa

Matt Bloomfield is flattened by Ashley Westwood's trailing arm as the pair contest a header.

It looked harsh, but Michael Oliver says it is a spot-kick.

    Right, teams are back out.

  10. Football gesturespublished at 13:45

    Wycombe 0-1 Aston Villa

I think this is my favourite football-specific gesture.

Can you imagine pulling it in any other surroundings?

When the self-scan checkout won't work perhaps?

Or when you fold the nail you are trying to hammer in?

    Nope...

The best exponent was Martin Palermo.

The Argentina striker practically flossed his nether regions after missing three penalties in one game as his side lost 3-0 to south American rivals Colombia in 1999.

Jon Evans: Slightly worried with Villa today. May be winning but still looking pretty poor. Not even sure they are championship standard. #bbcfootball.

  12. Tale of the tapepublished at 13:39 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January 2016

    Wycombe 0-1 Aston Villa

It has been pretty even in terms of territory, but Aston Villa have seen a shade more possession with 60% of the ball.

The real difference is in the shooting.

Villa have had eight shots, two on target. The hosts have had four, none of which have bothered goalkeeper Mark Bunn.

  13. Villa in controlpublished at 13:34 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January 2016

    Wycombe 0-1 Aston Villa

    Clive Allen
BBC Radio 5 live at Adams Park

"This is a surprise because Aston Villa have been in such horrendous form this season. Wycombe were hurrying Villa up at the start but the have been the better side since taking the lead and have controlled this FA Cup tie."

  14. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:33 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January 2016

    Wycombe 0-1 Aston Villa

Wycombe break upfield with pace, menace and numbers - but the pass is misplaced and the move breaks down.

That is your lot for the half.

  15. Postpublished at 43 mins

    Wycombe 0-1 Aston Villa

Carles Gil, with a neat change of feet, buys a yard of space on the edge of the box, but his shot thumps into the back of a sliding defender.

He looks great at this level, but when time is a premium in the Premier League he comes across as a bit of luxury.

  16. Fairly routine?published at 13:30 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January 2016

    Wycombe 0-1 Aston Villa

    Phil McNulty
    BBC Sport chief football writer

"Aston Villa holding their lead but Wycombe will be encouraged by one or two balls into the area that have offered moments of hope

"All fairly routine for Remi Garde's side so far and we have had a whirl of the arms from Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth in an attempt to inject some urgency into his players.

"The brief few seconds of sunshine have gone and it's another downpour."

  17. CLOSE!published at 41 mins

    Wycombe 0-1 Aston Villa

    Oooohhh!

That was close. Aaron Pierre leaps highest and thumps a header over the bar from little more than eight yards out.

He should really have done better. Gareth Ainsworth would have.

The Wycombe boss leaps and nods down on the sidelines as his man fails to get over the top of his effort.

  18. Postpublished at 40 mins

    Wycombe 0-1 Aston Villa

Wycombe with a corner and less than five minutes of the first half remaining.

Garry Thompson and Ciaran Clark are reenacting Royal Rumble while they wait.

Michael Oliver has a word. Finally we are ready...

  20. Postpublished at 37 mins

    Wycombe 0-1 Aston Villa

    Michael Harriman's eyes lit up.

Joe Jacobson's cross from way out left is rolling across into his path at the far post and the Wycombe winger is lining up a 20-yard outside-of-the-foot headline-stealing humdinger.

While he daydreams of cup glory though, a defender nips in to steal the ball away.
