"The magnitude of the FA Cup is known worldwide but it is nothing to experiencing it. Aston Villa manager Remi Garde has experience of it when playing for Arsenal and he knows it is a massive tie that is why he has picked a strong team.

"The cup competition was what kept them in the Premier League last season, it kept everyone buzzing. It was so important for them, they have an amazing turnout of fans today."

While we watch the match officials nose about on the Eastleigh pitch, conducting an inspection to decide the fate of their tie against Bolton, there can be no complaints about the Adams Park surface.

"The fans have not had anything to cheer about for so many years and I would like to see the players come out and say 'it's up to us', but they have not been good enough.

Legend has it that the team purchased him after they survived relegation from the old Division 2 on the last day of the 1998-99 season.
