    IS THE COMEBACK ON?

    Obviously not.

Andros Townsend scores a late consolation in a move reminiscent of when he was good for about three months. The Newcastle winger runs at Chelsea's defence and puts the ball in the bottom corner from outside the box.

That should probably be 6-0 as Eden Hazard latches onto a long ball and almost seems to stand on it when he just has to touch it past Rob Elliot, who's off his line. As he stands on the ball it squirms away from him and goes wide.

He hasn't scored a league goal all season, Hazard.

    Chelsea 5-0 Newcastle

    John Anderson
Former Newcastle defender on BBC Newcastle

"Good goal. It was well worked. It is slow, slow, then quick, quick. He has whipped it into an area and Traore has got across the defender."

  4. goal

GOAL - Chelsea 5-0 Newcastlepublished at 83 mins

    Bertrand Traore

This is the first Premier League goal ever scored by someone from Burkina Faso. Cesar Azpilicueta slips in a great cross from the right which Bertrand Traore turns it at the near post.

    A rout.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 80 mins

Willian, arguably Chelsea's man of the match, gets a rest now with 20-year-old Ruben Loftus-Cheek replacing him in midfield.

Want to feel old? Loftus-Cheek is born in 1996 and he's an adult.

(Obviously that won't make you feel old, if you're only about that age yourself)

Bertrand Traore has a shot blocked for Chelsea and then so does Cesc Fabregas. It's like a training match really. Baba Rahman blazes a shot over.

    Chelsea 4-0 Newcastle

    John Anderson
Former Newcastle defender on BBC Newcastle

Newcastle are flying to Spain for a warm weather training camp after this match.

"I think a few of them are already there," John Anderson says.

Newcastle are playing it around the back like they're Barcelona. That's because Chelsea are not putting them under too much pressure. This game is won and they face a huge European game on Tuesday.

Seydou Doumbia's first action in English football is totally over-running the ball and losing the chance to start an attack for Newcastle.

Graham Megennis: Time for Charnley to admit his mistake and replace McClaren. 18 day break now for the new man - if not we're down.

Joel McInally: McClaren has used his subs to bring on a defensive midfielder and a centre back when 3-0 down. Clueless.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 71 mins

Newcastle bring on Seydou Doumbia for his debut. The forward on loan from Roma, who has been a real menace most times I've seen him, replaces Aleksandar Mitrovic.

If we look at the average positions graph so far, you'll see Newcastle have actually had players almost as far forward as Chelsea.

You might notice it looks like the Blues are playing a very central formation but if players pop up on the left and right - the average is the centre...

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 67 mins

Newcastle bring off holding midfielder Cheick Tiote and Jamaal Lascelles - who is more of a defender - comes on to replace him.

Newcastle midfielder Jonjo Shelvey is booked for shoving Cesc Fabregas to the ground with his arm.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 60 mins

No need for Chelsea to risk Diego Costa and his broken nose, with this game already won. He comes off for 20-year-old Burkina Faso forward Bertrand Traore.

    Pedro

That's Newcastle's revival earlier. Cesc Fabrgeas plays a great ball forward from the centre circle. Pedro controls it on his chest, taking him away from Steven Taylor and guides the ball home from just inside the box.

A great goal all the way from Barcelona.

Robert Gallucci: Chelsea are the only team unbeaten in their last 10 PL games. What crisis?

SteveK: The threat to the top 4 from Chelsea is that they win the Champions League and thus take the 4th CL place. Worrying.

Peter Malath: People are talking about Chelsea turning season around. to where? they are 8 pts behind MUFC, MUFC are 7 behind 5 place. Where?

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill clears the ball poorly and Aleksandar Mitrovic has time to take a touch and shoot from the edge of the box. His effort is wide though.
