BB-8: As bad as Newcastle have been, take nothing away from Chelsea; they looked motivated, reinvigorated and clinical.

BONKERZ: Chelsea have woken up? This could be the start of them finally turning their season around.

Chelsea's Eden Hazard goes down after Daryl Janmaat runs into him from behind. The Belgian looks in agony, although it didn't seem like that dangerous a tackle.

Guus Hiddink even lets the medical team come on to see to him.

Newcastle winger Andros Townsend gets the ball - I'd forgotten he was playing to be honest - but his cross into the box is cleared. Not too long until the break.

Chelsea captain John Terry appeared to hurt himself when landing after challenging Aleksandar Mitrovic in the air. He comes off and Baba Rahman comes on. The Ghanaian will play at left-back with Branislav Ivanovic coming into the centre.

Newcastle are unbelievably sloppy. Jonjo Shelvey passes it straight to Diego Costa, who plays in Pedro. The Spaniard's shot is saved by Rob Elliot and Costa looks angry the ball wasn't played back to him.

Newcastle have a shot on target, they've not given up yet. It's their Dutch contingent involved as Daryl Janmaat goes down the right and crosses it to Georginio Wijnaldum, who has to reach behind himself to have a shot and it's easily held by Thibaut Courtois.

Louie: It's a special achievement on Newcastle's part to make this Chelsea side look like champions.

Noel Fitzpatrick: Jim Carrey could be wearing that mask instead of Costa and he'd still score against Coloccini

Brent1771: Looking like Newcastle spent all that money so they can do well in the Championship next year

Dave Payn: Newcastle at the moment reflect their manager's career; one step forward, three steps back.

John Terry gets his header onto the corner but Newcastle clear their lines.

The Toon, by the way, have actually had 60% possession. They could not be doing less with it.

Chelsea break again and Pedro and Cesc Fabrgeas get their wires crossed - the chance is gone.

The Blues have a corner now. It's pretty incessant attack.

Chelsea are on positive goal difference right now. Imagine if someone had told you at the start of the season that this would be one of the Blues' highs of the season.

Ryan Mould: If Newcastle's defence don't wake up this is going to hit double figures

Räbin: I am watching a movie titled, "Masked Men Running Riot".

Vince:I was going to say this could get ugly but I suppose that ship has already sailed.

This game feels like one of those in La Liga, where Barcelona or Real Madrid face one of the lower sides and seem able to score at will.

That's right Newcastle fans, your team are making Chelsea remind me of Barcelona.

Chelsea's Pedro pulls the ball across the box and Branislav Ivanovic hits it first time, with Rolando Aarons blocking it out for a corner. This could be any score. From the corner, Ivanovic's header is cleared.

As things stand, Newcastle are back in the bottom three again - and Chelsea are nine points clear of danger. If the game ends like this, it's probably time to stop wondering if Chelsea might go down.

What are Newcastle playing at? Steven Taylor plays a weak back-pass to Rob Elliot, who has to act quickly to clear - getting wiped out of it by Diego Costa as he does so. The striker concedes a free-kick but was inches away from making it 4-0.

Former Newcastle defender on BBC Newcastle

"Costa got on a ball he had to right to get on it. Coloccini looked like he was treading water. It was great ball and a great run by Willian for the goal."

Both sides would probably be happy to hear the final whistle now. Some Newcastle fans must be checking train timetables on their phones right.

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 19 mins

Newcastle defender Steven Taylor goes into the book as he hauls Diego Costa down to the ground on halfway. He's got about 70 minutes to avoid a second yellow now.
