Chelsea striker Diego Costa strays offside and tries a bicycle kick which is held by Rob Elliot. It wouldn't have counted anyway.
Chelsea 3-0 Newcastle
Alan will be (relatively) content with what he's seen so far in the second half.
This is much more like it from Newcastle - who head off to La Manga after this game. Jonjo Shelvey's shot is blocked by Cesar Azpilicueta.

Ayọ̀rìndé Testimony: If Chelsea continue with this form, another 2011-12 season is possible. They were woeful in the league, yet won the Champions League.
Do you agree? Or wishful thinking?
Jonjo Shelvey puts in the corner which resulted from that last move and Diego Costa has to head it out for another corner.
Andros Towsend takes the next one but that's cleared.
Aleksandar Mitrovic is back on the pitch now, he's fine.
Newcastle have started the second half brightly as Moussa Sissoko puts in a cross, which is cleared.
Wait a minute, Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic is down injured. It looks like he was caught late by Cesc Fabregas in that move on the corner of the box. There were no appeals for a penalty but maybe they could have had one.

"Wijnaldum has been innocuous, but if you are trying to get back into it, and there is only one or two players on the pitch who can get goals for you, why take him off?"

Matt Blazey: Is the Chinese transfer window still open? Can we ship Coloccini to the furthest eastern part of China possible?
Second half under way. Will we see any more goals?
Newcastle make a change at half-time, Jack Colback comes on for their top scorer Georginio Wijnaldum in midfield. Is this just a case of avoiding a demolition now?
If you're wondering, by the way, whether Chelsea are really going to go for it in the second half, don't get your hopes up.
The Blues play Paris St-Germain on Tuesday in the Champions League. In fact they have four fixtures between this and Newcastle's next game - at Stoke next month.

Diego the Alter Ego: NUFC players are all off to Spain after this for warm weather training, players already look like they're on holiday. Awful
R. El Jumaili: After all these years can anyone define Mclaren's style of play? Maybe he should do the inevitable now and become a pundit...
Kyle: Chelsea have been clinical at taking chances but I don't think they have been that great. Newcastle are awful.

Former Newcastle defender on BBC Newcastle
"Chelsea have dropped a gear since the third goal went in and it has all been too easy for them.
"Newcastle are trying to play in their own half and are giving the ball away in bad areas and 3-0 down at this stage, it is damage limitation.
"You wouldn't bet on Chelsea not scoring again in this second half."
Don't let the stats fool you - Newcastle have had more possession but they've been shocking. Do Opta do unforced errors stats? That would tell its own tale.
Just so many individual errors from Newcastle in this game. As things stand they drop into the relegation zone and are only one point above Sunderland, who beat Manchester United earlier on today.
Realistically this game was done in the first 20 minutes. Newcastle will probably be quite relieved not to have conceded more.
Willian takes a good free-kick but a diving Rob Elliot does well to touch it around the post.
Chelsea end the half on the attack, Moussa Sissoko fouls Willian to give Chelsea a free-kick in a dangerous position.
Former Toon striker Tino Asprilla has his say on Twitter. Admittedly I'm not really sure what he is saying.
