Not a new formation, but the amount of goals Manchester City have scored in each game in this League Cup run so far.

Can they hit the ground running tonight? Sergio Aguero v Lucas looks a key battle to me...

The League Cup was Manuel Pellegrini's first trophy as Manchester City boss - and on that occasion it proved a key stagepost on the way to a league title.

Spurs came from 1-0 down to win that one - a win which could yet prove vital at the end of the season. How damaging will that defeat prove to be for Arsenal though?

Of more relevance - could City yet win the league again...?

Former Chelsea & Norwich striker on Football Focus

"All season I've been thinking Man City will kick into gear but they've been inconsistent. But with captain Vincent Kompany back they are favourites. However, if you want to win the competition play your best team - they should play Joe Hart in goal.

"Liverpool, even under Jurgen Klopp, have been inconsistent. This isn't his team - there will be changes in the summer."

“It is a gamble and a very brave gamble to leave Joe Hart out of a final. You have to play your best keeper, and Joe Hart is your best.

“It’s an added strength to have him there for City.”

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has kept faith with Willy Caballero as his Capital One Cup keeper - and has done so again today in the final against Liverpool at Wembley.

It is surely a gamble, however, to pick the 34-year-old who was so poor in the 5-1 FA Cup fifth round defeat at Chelsea last week ahead of England keeper Joe Hart.

It's a full-strength City side, apart from the crucial position of goalkeeper. Pellegrini, City and their fans will have to hope the manager does not come to regret this decision,

"It has been a big week for Manchester City, they got their first part spot on and if they get this spot on it will be justified."
