    Liverpool 0-0 Man City

The first glimpse of Yaya Toure in midfield as he brushes Roberto Firmino aside, slips another man and then finds Bacary Sagna out on the right. Sagna stands up a cross and Toure follows it in - but is beaten to the punch by a man in red.

That 'weakness'  of playing Lucas at centre-back hasn't looked like a problem for Liverpool yet.

Fernandinho crashes a volley miles over the top before Liverpool counter and only a great interception from Vincent Kompany prevents Daniel Sturridge getting into a dangerous area. Wembley awaits the awakening of this final.

    Liverpool 0-0 Man City

Full marks for extravagance as Philippe Coutinho plays an outrageous 'no-look' reverse pass through to find Nathaniel Clyne - but the ball is slightly overcooked. There was no real need for it, but I like to see that. Flair on the big occasion! At the other end Raheem Sterling is tagged and wins a foul.

Plenty of passion, not much in the way of quality so far. City trying to get the ball down and play it but they're not allowed to by the gegenpress...

Willy Caballero only has 35 seconds to wait before he is tested, and he passes his test too, claiming a dangerous low cross from Alberto Moreno as Liverpool fly on down the wing.

    National anthem o'clock. Glorious. Pageantry.

One side of Wembley spells out 'You'll Never Walk Alone' as the other scribes 'Blue Moon.'

Pyro, flags, chants - the cup final experience is in full whack. Manuel Pellegrini beams as he liens up alongside his team to meet the guests of honour.

Potentially his final final as City manager. Unless they reach the Champions League final of course...

A really fine atmosphere building now at Wembley as the sun is out, and here comes the trophy too as a military man carries it to the middle.

Teams in the tunnel - no Joe Hart pre-match histrionics of course, as Jurgen Klopp lines up in a sober black suit. Very smart.

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Wembley

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp - suited for the big Wembley occasion - has just gone through his usual ritual of studying the opposition warm-up, interrupted by a warm greeting from Manchester City keeper Joe Hart.

Great chance for the German to get a first trophy on the board quickly after arriving at Anfield in October - and endear himself even further to Liverpool's fans.

Someone who has not endeared himself to Liverpool's fans is Raheem Sterling, who left Anfield for City in such contentious circumstances in the summer.

Fair to say he received a real verbal going over when his name was announced over the PA. Not sure he would be shocked by that.
