MK Dons v Chelsea (16:00 GMT)

    Paul Ince
    Former MK Dons manager

"I like to think I played a part in [MK Dons manager] Karl Robinson's development. I used to watch training sessions at Liverpool when my son Tom was there and Karl was in charge of the under nines.

"We built up a relationship and at MK Dons I thought he was the perfect man. He's done a really great job."

    Carlisle 0-3 Everton

Everton manager Roberto Martinez reacts to a reported racist incident which took place in the first half: "I thought it was dealt with in a good manner. Straight away the Carlisle manager Keith Curle and myself, we agreed to make an announcement. I thought the referee dealt with that well. The worry was it would be a 90 minutes of abuse but it was just a reaction to a goal being celebrated."

  3. Manager reactionpublished at 15:45 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2016

    Carlisle 0-3 Everton

Everton manager Roberto Martinez reacts to the result: "We knew that you can allow these games to be very complicated. I thought we dealt with it with an incredible professionalism. The start of the game allowed us to control the rest of it.

"The fourth round of the FA Cup always brings excitement. I thought we played well and controlled the threat that Carlisle can bring. We scored three goals, created chances and overall we deserved it and look forward to a draw."

We've all got a lot to thank MK Dons for, you know. They are the team which spotted and nurtured the talent of a certain Mr Dele Alli.

Football's best Dele since the days of Adebola started training with the Dons' first team when he was 15.

“By the time of pre-season when he was 17, his athleticism was incredible," said Dons skipper Sean Lewington., external

“Soon it was a case of how we would cope against top players in the Premier League games.

“But after just two or three games for Tottenham, they were convinced he could play for England.”

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC One

"It's the sort of tie that captures everything we love about the FA Cup. A side with a small budget against a super power that is Chelsea.

"The Blues have named a very strong team."

  8. A lower league magicianpublished at 15:39 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2016

MK Dons v Chelsea (16:00 GMT)

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson appears to see himself very much as a lower league Paul Daniels.

The similarities are obvious really: he's on the tele-box every now and again, wears nice suits and pulls the odd rabbit out of the hat.

“We’re pulling rabbits out of hats," said Robinson., external "Every season we have overachieved and I’m so proud of the players and the way the chairman has chosen to run the club. We can’t spend silly money that we don’t have. We run it in a very good way.”

"In his pre-match message to MK Dons fans, Karl Robinson has called on supporters to evoke memories of last season's Capital One Cup victory over Manchester United. These tickets were hot property in Buckinghamshire, so that's likely to be the case, but on the pitch things look a little different.

"No Benik Afobe. No Will Grigg. No Dele Alli. All missing from the team that beat United. Can the Dons shock Chelsea at the same stage as Bradford last campaign?"

Quick question Chelsea fans... would you have Romelu Lukaku back?

I ask only because it looks as though another promising striker, Patrick Bamford, has no future at the Bridge. Certainly in the short term.

He went out on loan to Norwich yesterday. Since moving to the Blues in 2012, he is yet to play for the club.

One for the future? Or destined to be the next journeyman striker of the PL era?

  14. Player reactionpublished at 15:33 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2016

    FT: Carlisle 0-3 Everton

The scorer of Everton's second goal Aaron Lennon speaks to BT Sport: "We came out fast, we knew we had to or it could have been a difficult tie. We got the two early goals and that settled it for us. We did what we needed to do.

"We knew we had to get back into winning ways and fast. We had to get over Wednesday's disappointment and we are in the draw later today."

  15. Keep the head up...published at 15:31 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2016

    FT: Carlisle 0-3 Everton

Some apt tunes are played at Brunton Park as fans make for the exits.

"Every little thing is gonna be alright..."

No sooner does that end do we get: "Always look on the bright side of life."

  16. Pato 'a different animal' to Costapublished at 15:27 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2016

    Alexandre PatoImage source, PA

Chelsea's new signing Alexandre Pato is not involved today, but he's desperate to rebuild his career with the Blues.

Tim Sturtridge, a South America-based football journalist, has been analysing the transfer here.

Tim writes: "Pato has received criticism in Brazil for not capitalising on his talents and not showing enough passion on the pitch.

"For example, the traits his Chelsea team-mate Diego Costa demonstrates when tangling with opponents are lauded throughout South America.

"Pato is a different animal, but the goal remains the same - prove the doubters wrong by sticking the ball in the back of the net again and again."
