This picture was captioned as 'Carlisle mascot holding a fox'.

Can't argue with that level of accuracy but as for why the mascot is holding a fox? No idea.

That, though, is the scariest fox I have ever seen.

Brunton Park was of course completely flooded as a result of the recent weather which battered the north of England but the Daily Mirror's Simon Bird says locals seem to be taking things with a pinch of humour.

Carlisle United make two changes as on-loan QPR midfielder Brandon Comley comes in along with fellow midfielder Antony Sweeney.

Carlisle Utd XI: Gillespie, Atkinson, Ellis, Raynes, Miller, Kennedy, Dicker, Sweeney, Gillesphey, Comley, Asamoah.

For Everton, defender John Stones drops to the bench. Probably just being rested, but might get tongues wagging about a potential deadline transfer move...

That game is not on BBC One in Scotland, with the Scottish League Cup semi-final between Ross County and Celtic on instead.

Tom Vaughan: Sunday league, burnt out car on the pitch

JP Fahy: I've just got home from a game I was supposed to referee but had to be called off cos one team didn't have enough players

Lee Roberts: Used to love a good car drive round the pitch before matches in the 70s n 80s. Used to happen every week!

Wait, was that really a thing Lee?

While Carlisle United's staff and the local community have done a cracking job getting their ground back into shape, there's still some reminders around of the devastation caused by Storm Desmond which will act as a bit of culture shock to the Everton players.

"For Everton walking into Brunton Park is going to be very unfamiliar, through the shower area and the portakabins," says Carlisle boss Keith Curle. "The question is will that take them out of their comfort zone?

"Everything has been done to make it as accommodating as possible, but portakabins are portakabins. There will be a bumper crowd and a different surface - it's got FA Cup written all over it."

"If you look on the wall you can see the water mark, which is about seven or eight feet from the ground. That is how high the water got," explains Andy.

Everton are already at Brunton Park and their social media account has taken in the tunnel.

"This is Brunton Park, be just and fear not," reads the sign which adorns the tunnel.

The paint is a bit flakey, it has that rugged feel to it. There is something special about the Premier League boys having to rough it on these occasions.

Carlisle United host Everton today and have pulled out the stops to do so just weeks after their ground was entirely flooded. Hats off to them. But it got us thinking, what is the weirdest reason you can recall for a match being postponed?

James Dowling: I seem to remember Torquay v Portsmouth in August 1999 was postponed because of an eclipse that would be visible in Torquay.

    FA Cup highlights

It is Sunday, so why not digest a Sunday league goal.

Tottenham's Eric Dier is the man at the heart of it and the deflection and consequent panic visible in the footwork of the goalkeeper is exactly the kind of thing you may run into on a local pitch. Click play below to see what I'm banging on about.

His reply was to say "I don't know, why don't you ask Kelechi Iheanacho."

Iheanacho ran in three goals as Manchester City thumped Aston Villa on Saturday. You can click play below to watch them.
