  1. CLOSE!published at 19:57 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2016

    Arsenal 0-0 Southampton

No sooner did we say Southampton were the better side and Arsenal pump the ball forward for Mesut Ozil to exquisitely bring it down in one movement but the magician's shot is straight at the keeper. Should have scored.

  2. GREAT SAVE!published at 19:57 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2016

    Leicester 0-0 Liverpool

Kasper Schmeichel with a fine save now to deny Emre Can from point-blank range! Great save, even better than the one from Smion Mignolet a minute or so ago.

Can was offside as it goes. But what a stop!

    Arsenal 0-0 Southampton

Our man with firm eyes on this game says the Saints are bossing this and, in his words, "smashing into tackles" as they look to get about Arsenal. The Gunners are second best at the moment. Follow the game in more depth here.

"Absolutely wonderful play from Leicester. I haven't seen crossing like that since a certain left-back playing for Nottingham Forst in the past... Simon Mignolet did wonderfully well. It should have been a goal."

  5. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 19:56 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2016

    West Ham 0-0 Aston Villa

One of the better 10-minute spells from Aston Villa this season - as they have a penalty shout waved away! Gabby Agbonlahor's cross hits the arm of Michail Antonio and that's a penalty all day long...

    Nothing given.

Sergio Aguero looks lively tonight - he's scampering about looking for openings and pings a shot just wide from 25 yards. He'll be enjoying having another striker beside him tonight, in the shape of Kelechi Iheanacho.

  8. Football League latestpublished at 19:54 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2016

Nine games in the Championship, League One and League Two this evening plus the added bonus of the second leg of the southern area final in the Football League Trophy between Oxford and Millwall.

Wolves and in-form Burnley have taken early leads in the Championship at home to Bolton and away at Sheffield Wednesday respectively.

Port Vale have edged themselves ahead at home to Swindon in League One.

    Scoreless everywhere else so far.

  9. GREAT SAVE!published at 19:54 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2016

    Leicester 0-0 Liverpool

Leicester are so vibrant, wonderful stuff to watch at times. Jamie Vardy skins his man and stands up an inviting cross for strike partner Shinji Okazaki to attack. Decent header, but it needed to be low down and Simon Mignolet makes the save. Reflexes of a cat.

Dean, Birmingham: Bit the bullet and finally put Dele Alli in my fantasy team and he rewards me with a goal inside two minutes. No better feeling.

    Sunderland 0-0 Man City

Nice from Sunderland, who are getting about City - Lamine Kone rampaging down the right and putting in a cross which fails to beat the first man. Good intent though.

Robert Huth gets in some scrapes and he is lucky to perhaps not see red here for an elbow into the temple of Adam Lallana. That was naughty. High-energy start at the King Power.

  13. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 19:51 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2016

    Norwich 0-1 Tottenham

A barnstorming start at Carrow Road, where Norwich appeal for a penalty after Steven Naismith is bundled over inside the box by Kyle Walker. Nothing doing... but one to watch when the crosses come into the box.

Spurs, by the way, have gone second with that goal. Title challengers?

  15. Postpublished at 19:49 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2016

    West Ham 0-0 Aston Villa

Decent start from Villa in a very strong yellow away kit as a corner causes panic in the Hammers backline. Adrian comes and misses it and it needs to be hacked away off the line.

"We've seen what Leicester are all about in this micro part of the game. Everything they do is immediately on the front foot. It's like rolling football back 30 or 40 years, when players would go out saying: Let's get at 'em and roll these over early doors."

    ...is give us a goal.

Manchester United's goalscoring - and performances in general - have been abysmal at Old Trafford this season.

They have scored just 12 goals in 11 Premier League games this season, with only bottom club Aston Villa having a worse record.

Add to that the horror stat that it is 11 matches - eight hours and 26 minutes - since they scored in the first half of a home game at OId Trafford and you can see why there is an air of discontent among supporters.

If that does not change here against Stoke City, the pressure will increase on manager Louis van Gaal.

Well, that didn't take long. Norwich might have spent all that money in January, but it takes more than a few quid to keep Dele Alli quiet. The wonderkid slams home from close range after Christian Eriksen's low shot had been parried.

Riyad Mahrez, slices through the Liverpool defence with ease and curls a shot just wide from 20 yards! What a start from Leicester.
