    Chelsea 1-0 Stoke

Remember when people were thinking Chelsea were in danger of relegation earlier in the season? Well, as things stand, they are set to pass that magical 40-point mark.

Not many chances since the last update, but Loic Remy has the chance to add to Chelsea's lead now as he comes on for goalscorer Bertrand Traore

Sam - How does Middlesbrough reaching a UEFA Cup final (not winning it) and Twente winning the Dutch league help Newcastle in their current situation exactly?

    Stephen.

  3. 'Pure quality'published at 16:22 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2016

    Swansea 1-0 Norwich

    Garth Crooks
Former Spurs striker on Final Score

"Whenever I've seen Gylfi Sigurdsson play for Swansea, he's the player who stands out as pure quality. A top-class goal from him there.

"Sometimes you have to wonder if Tottenham were a bit quick in letting him go..."

    Raheem Sterling

City make it four. It is simple stuff for the home side as well as Jesus Navas' low cross into the box is turned home by substitute Raheem Sterling. Villa's players have given up on Premier League life.

Cherries keeper Artur Boruc is tested for the first time today as Daryl Janmaat's angled shot is pushed away by the Bournemouth keeper.

  8. goal

GOAL - Swansea 1-0 Norwichpublished at 16:19 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2016

    Gylfi Sigurdsson (61 mins)

A breakthrough, and it is the home side that deservedly leads.

Great vision from substitute Leroy Fer, who eyes Gylfi Sigurdsson in space on the left of the area and plays a low ball through the defence for the Swansea man to run onto and he subsequently drive a shot into the far corner.

    Big task for Norwich now.

  9. CLOSE!published at 16:19 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2016

    Newcastle 0-1 Bournemouth

Aleksandar Mitrovic's first real contribution to the game sees him curl a shot just past the far post from the edge of the box. Newcastle have been dreadful this game but they are still in it.

  10. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:16 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2016

    Chelsea 1-0 Stoke

We've just had a lull in activity in this game but Xherdan Shaqiri has just injected a bit of excitement with a determined run to the edge of the box, where he tries to catch out Thibaut Courtois by curling the ball into the corner, but the Chelsea keeper gets a hand across to push behind.

Game over. Sergio Aguero bags his second of the game with a shot past Brad Guzan at the near post after exchanging passes with David Silva.

  12. goal

GOAL - Everton 2-0 West Hampublished at 16:15 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2016

    Aaron Lennon

Who needs 11 men? This 10 are doing just fine for Everton. This is a superb goal. Aaron Lennon drives in from the left, plays a neat one-two with Romelu Lukaku, flicks the ball past a West ham defender and finishes low past Adrian. Lovely stuff.

  13. Postpublished at 16:14 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2016

    Newcastle 0-1 Bournemouth

Newcastle are a calamity waiting to happen every time Bournemouth come forward. Adam Smith drives down the right and crosses across the face of goal with the home defence static, watching, confused.

  14. CLOSE!published at 16:11 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2016

    Southampton 0-0 Sunderland

What is going on with the weather in Southampton? After some rain, some sunshine, we now have some hailstones.

It isn't quite raining goals, but Fabio Borini is not far off what would have been a goal of the season contender, lashing a volley from outside the box onto the roof of the net. Great effort.

Almost right Sam, although he didn't win the Uefa Cup. Came close though. Got to the final. The less said about the score the better.

Don't be too harsh on McClaren. He won the UEFA Cup with Middlesbrough and won the Dutch league with Twente. He is a good coach just like Moyes - just needs a club with less pressure.

  16. CLOSE!published at 16:10 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2016

    Everton 1-0 West Ham

Close for West Ham! Michail Antonio rises to meet a corner but heads the ball just wide of the far post. The Hammers looking to turn the screw against the 10 men of Everton.

  17. Postpublished at 16:09 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2016

    Swansea 0-0 Norwich

There was a change at the break for Swansea, with Modou Barrow on for Alberto Paloschi, who had done very little in the first half.

The hosts have the first opportunity when Wayne Routledge charges forward but his run is ended by Ryan Bennett, who earns himself a booking.

  18. 'Third gear'published at 16:09 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2016

    Man City 2-0 Aston Villa

    Garth Crooks
Former Spurs striker on Final Score

"At no stage have Manchester City got out of third gear this afternoon. It's been very comfortable.

"The frustrating thing is that they could win this by five or six but, at the moment, they seem to want to do 'just enough'."

  19. Postpublished at 16:09 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2016

    Newcastle 0-1 Bournemouth

Bournemouth should be 2-0 up. They break two on two but Josh King and Benik Afobe are unable to work it to their advantage before Adam Smith fires a low shot that is diverted into the side-netting. Newcastle clinging on.

  20. Postpublished at 16:07 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2016

    Chelsea 1-0 Stoke

Stoke are quick out of the blocks, helped by a charging run by Marko Arnautovic. He gets the ball on the left and takes on Cesar Azpilicueta, cutting inside before fizzing an effort at goal. It is well hit, and Thibaut Courtois punches the ball straight into the middle of the area, but Geoff Cameron heads over.

Moments later, Eden Hazard shoots just wide of the far post.
