After a bit of pinball in midfield, Aaron Ramsey has just played the ball straight out of play. Mohamed Elneny has been quiet so far too. Wonder what he's made of his first north London derby.

Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino is the more animated manager, stalking his technical area while Arsenal's Arsene Wenger remains largely impassive.

The Argentine has just turned and let out a huge roar of frustration when his team ignored an opportunity to go forward, choosing instead to go back. Not happy at all.

Erik Lamela might have taken his time to settle at Spurs, but you can see why his boss Mauricio Pochettino likes him. Not only does he offer a goal threat, he has nine this season, but is ruthless in his pursuit of the opposition. He's on a yellow card, though, so will have to watch his step.

    Danny Murphy
Ex-Tottenham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

"Although we've had no goals it's been a super first-half.

"There's been lots of action for both teams and the sheer pace of this game is a pleasure to watch."

    Tottenham 0-0 Arsenal

Danny Welbeck's pace is causing the odd problem for the Spurs defence, and the former Manchester United man wins a first Arsenal corner, which is easily booted away. Corners: does anybody practice them these days?

The Spurs subs go for a little jog down the touchline as their team-mates on the pitch continue to look more at ease than Arsenal. Danny Rose shrugs off Aaron Ramsey but the Welshman passes to Danny Welbeck and Hugo Lloris runs from goal to head clear. Nice improvisation.

John Pierce: Would you know Mezut Ozil was on the pitch?

Rob Booth: Arsenal are devoid of ideas in the last third

Charlene Beedie: The ball has had more air time than contact with the actual ground. A bit boring really.

Kyle Walker is now penalised for a foul on Alexis Sanchez on the Spurs right. The Chilean has been anonymous so far, and is short of goals. He hasn't scored in 11 Premier League games.

Another booking, this time it's Francis Coquelin, who loses the ball and then chops down Eric Dier. Getting a bit tasty now.

    Tottenham 0-0 Arsenal

    Danny Murphy
Ex-Tottenham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

“We said David Ospina has not been stretched but he certainly was then. A great save from the Arsenal keeper!

"He's looked tidy Ospina. He's certainly not been fazed by the size of this game"

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 28 mins

But once again Christian Eriksen curls it straight into the arms of David Ospina. Arsenal then try to break and Erik Lamela goes into the book for pulling back Danny Welbeck. Silly.

  12. CLOSE!published at 26 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Arsenal

The game has settled a bit now and Arsenal will be happy with that. But here come Spurs. Kyle Walker crosses for Erik Lamela and David Ospina makes a vital stop. That was only eight yards out. More pressure results in a booking for Hector Bellerin and it's another Spurs free-kick.

Dave W: What has happened to Arsenal's first touch? Ball control is very loose.

Nick Weetch: Possibly the biggest #NorthLondonDerby in my lifetime and I'm stuck in A&E with my daughter. Not sure she gets it.

Don Uorri: Kane needs to stop playing hero ball & pass!

Plenty of action down the Arsenal end, as Phil says, but, importantly, Arsenal have rode that spell without conceding.

Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez threw his arms up in frustration as he waited in space on the left while his team-mates over-indulged in passing on the right, ending with The Gunners being dispossessed.

Spurs looking sharper and stronger in this first 20 minutes but neither side able to create any clear opportunities.

  16. Kane is keenpublished at 13:06 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2016

Our friends at Opta say Harry Kane had more shots in the opening six minutes today (3) than he managed in the whole of the previous game against West Ham (2).

Danny Rose has enjoyed getting forward thus far and now finds himself in the Arsenal penalty area, he aims to square to the lurking Erik Lamela, but Gabriel comes in with a vital clearance. Spurs are edging closer.

Arsenal enjoying their first decent spell of possession now but they come up against a solid Spurs wall erected across the edge of the penalty area and there is no way through.

Little bit of a scare as Tottenham keeper Hugo Lloris hesitates at the back, but Spurs get themselves out of trouble and they look comfortable on the ball as the home fans urge their team on. Compelling stuff so far.
