Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech: "It is a step back in the title race. We need to make sure we bounce back in the next game. It is a big week for us with Tottenham on Saturday and Swansea in midweek.

"We should have done better, we knew it would be difficult but we did not create enough to score more goals and made mistakes on the other side to concede three.

"We need to make sure every time Leicester and Tottenham slip we are ready to take the advantage."

    Man Utd 3-2 Arsenal

After Marcus Rashford scored twice, Louis van Gaal said he is not surprised that the club's young players are coming in and impressing.

"That is why we have a small selection because then you can give youngsters a chance. A big selection means they don't get a chance," he said.

"The experience of mine is youngsters always play well the first match. The second match is different. Marcus played well in both matches so he is a special talent."

Asked about memorable debuts, Van Gaal added: "I can imagine a lot of them. Patrick Kluivert makes the winning goal [for Ajax] in the Super Cup in the Netherlands. Xavi, fantastic against I think Valladolid [for Barcelona] and also Thomas Muller a fantastic debut. He was playing in the second team [for Bayern Munich]."

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, speaking to BBC Sport: "We played with a lot of intensity, I cannot fault our commitment and spirit and desire but I feel we conceded too easy goals.

"I think after the game we have to be positive and prepare for the next one. We have another game on Wednesday, they come thick and fast and you want to keep a good mentality.

"We did fight until the end, we had a lot of the ball but I think we could avoid the goals with better concentration.

"I am disappointed because we lost the game but we will focus on the next one. This is a fight where you go to the next one and aim to come back even stronger."
