Diego Costa is sandwiched by Leighton Baines and Phil Jagielka in a meaty tackle - he's always fun to watch is the Chelsea target-man.

Not much to excite in terms of good play though. The Saturday night primetime audience may feel a bit jibbed. Bring back Noel's House Party.

Ruairi Ward: This is a classic case of two teams who are too afraid to lose and thus are playing negative football

Ross Barkley releases Romelu Lukaku down the right, if he can take a proper touch he may be away but Gary Cahill covers the ground superbly to make a sliding tackle of the highest order. Superb defending.

As half-time entertainment goes, we've just had some pretty surreal fare here at Goodison Park.

There was a penalty shootout between fans of Everton and Chelsea - with knife edge tension added by the fact it could only last as long as it took a horse to walk around the perimeter of the pitch.

One for Fifa to consider maybe? For the completists, Chelsea won 4-3.

Romelu Lukaku is fouled, Everton send up Phil Jagielka, and then play it backwards! Frustrating stuff.

They do win a corner though and that's as close as we have come, Ramiro Funes Mori looping a header on to the roof of the net!

Jimmy: "Ball has been starved of action in the goalmouth area"'. That is an understatement! Seen more activity from drying paint.

Anonymous: I don't know whether it's because I am sat in the library supposedly working but I am thoroughly enjoying the game. Proper English game of football.

Luke: Costa doing everything possible to embarrass himself and Chelsea further. More embarrassing than JM, which is saying something.

"I think for both sides they are lacking quality, I think Barkley or Lennon will be most likely to create something for Everton, down the right-hand side with Coleman and Lennon.

"We saw how the crowd reacted to the pressing, they love it when you get in people’s faces."

Who will join Crystal Palace in the last four then?

All to play for. The good news is that it was 0-0 at half-time between these sides in January and it finished 3-3.

    Could yet be a thriller...

Aside from some friction between players from both sides, this has been a pretty dreadful FA Cup quarter-final up to now.

Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois has made a couple of saves from Tom Cleverley while his Everton counterpart Joel Robles got a bit of work from Willian's free-kick.

Other than that - little to report.

Leighton Baines bombs on down the left and finds Tom Cleverley on the edge of the area, he curls in a shot but it's a routine save for Thibaut Courtois.
