    Bournemouth 3-2 Swansea

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth winger Max Gradel: "One thing came in my mind (after i scored) and that was to thank the coach, he did a lot for me. When people are loyal to you you have to give something back.

"Twice it (knee injury) happened to me and it is never easy. The coach believed in me and when I was thinking of that I couldn't give up and I was thinking of my family.

"As a player you just want to keep going. When you are winning it is a good feeling. All the players think the same, even though you are safe you should try to win games."

  3. Manager reactionpublished at 17:16 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2016

    Bournemouth 3-2 Swansea

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe, speaking to BBC Sport: "We still feel we have more work to do but we are moving in the right direction. There are still big games to come. Swansea showed good character but our lads showed even better character to deal with those setbacks and find another gear.

"There are no easy games at this level. You have to get your mentality right. Credit to the players but they have it in them to be focused and they want more. We have to keep achieving. We go into a tough run of fixtures but ones we can look forward to."

On Max Gradel’s goal: "It meant everything the club and everything to the player himself who has had a difficult time [through injury]. But the way he has come back is a breath of fresh air."

On Joshua King: "Josh has had to be patient this season. He now has the goals to back up his performances."

BBC Sport's Joel Goldman at Goodison Park: "The 2009 FA Cup final shirt sits in the heritage room, upstairs in the Parish Church of St Luke the Evangelist, which sits in the corner of Goodison Park

"A walk around the perimeter of Goodison Park is like a walk back in time to the good old days of football - a ground full of character, surrounded by terraced houses and with the names of legends etched into its brickwork.

"Give me this classic cauldron of football over the newer identikit, soulless stadia that clubs now move to when they run out of room at their old ground any day."

So Everton's season may be as good as over with defeat today.

Mind you, Chelsea are only playing for the FA Cup now this season after they bowed out of the Champions League in midweek.

  18. Problems at home?published at 16:36 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2016

    Everton v Chelsea (17:30 GMT)

Everton may have beaten today's opponents Chelsea 3-1 in September - remember Steven Naismith scoring a hat-trick? - but the Toffees have won just four home games all season in the league.

It's quite frankly not good enough is it?

Roberto Martinez has said that this game does not make or break Everton's season. But winning the FA Cup wouldn't hurt...

Three years ago Roberto Martinez won the FA Cup with Wigan.

Fairytale stuff, it was one of the old cup's biggest shocks in modern times.

A month later he arrived at Goodison Park. He has developed John Stones and Ross Barkley into international class talents, he has managed to get a £30m striker in up front and he has seen his side score 51 times in the Premier League so far this season.

But Everton are only 12th in the table.

With new investment in the boardroom, does Martinez need another Cup win...?
