Manchester United set-piece, cleared, and Dimitri Payet is away! Is he? No! Guillermo Varela stays with him and Payet is flagged for a foul. Harsh...

"Manchester United have 16 minutes to save what has been a disastrous season. If they do lose it will be five defeats in their last nine."

  3. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 74 mins

Memphis Depay and Bastian Schweinsteiger are on for Manchester United. Not long left now, the hosts need a major lift.

They replace Marouane Fellaini - biggest cheer of the day - and Marcus Rashford.

Tom Gill:, external That's three brilliant goals from four FA Cup games, Lukaku, Guédioura, and now Payet! We have been lucky!

Oliver Banks:, external Payet should have been off for a second yellow from the dive. Poor from Atkinson.

MK:, external Plan B will be in effect. Hoof it up to the toothless Fellaini.

  6. West Ham have got Payetpublished at 17:33 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2016

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Old Trafford

As the song West Ham supporters have been singing all afternoon says, they have got Dimitri Payet and he may have put them on the way to the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

Payet's free-kick was simply perfection. Technique, placement and arching away from United keeper David de Gea. Think we might be hearing even more of that song now.

As for Manchester United...what have they got?

  7. Postpublished at 72 mins

    Man Utd 0-1 West Ham

I should address the fact that a few of you are raising - should Dimitri Payet have been sent-off just before he scored that gem of a free-kick?

He was on his way down - very easily - before a slight touch from Marcos Rojo for his unsuccessful penalty appeal in the 66th minute.

He could very easily have seen a second yellow. That won't be lost on Louis van Gaal and co.

  8. Van Gaal's options?published at 17:31 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2016

    Man Utd 0-1 West Ham

    John Hartson
Former Arsenal and Wales striker on BBC Radio

"There are not an awful lot of options on the Manchester United bench if they want to change things.

"They have not had enough of a threat. Fellaini has to play further up the field. Herrera has been in and out, and is not bossing the midfield as he should be."

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 70 mins

    Man Utd 0-1 West Ham

Just a brilliant, brilliant goal from Dimitri Payet. Is it enough to send the Hammers to Wembley? It will be unless the home side raise their game considerably. Michael Carrick is booked for a late lunge on halfway.

  10. 'Incredible'published at 17:28 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2016

    Man Utd 0-1 West Ham

    John Hartson
Former Arsenal and Wales striker on BBC Radio 5 live

"What an incredible free-kick. He must be 40 yards out and has to beat the brilliant De Gea and he hits it in off the post.

"But he shouldn't be on the pitch. He should've got a second yellow card and would've been sent off. That is the luck you need when you come to Old Trafford."

GOAL - Man Utd 0-1 West Hampublished at 68 mins

    Dimitri Payet

What a goal! This game needed something special to break the deadlock and Dimitri Payet has produced it! From the top section of the very top drawer!

A free-kick from, oooh, 25 yards at least. Central. He sets it off over the wall but very high, and pretty much down the middle of the goal.

But through some sort of sorcery he manages to bring the ball down, and swerve it away from David de Gea and in off the inside of the post.

    SENSATIONAL!

"From here, at first look, that looked a stonewall penalty. But thank God for video replays. Payet dived."

  14. Man Utd start to threatenpublished at 17:23 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2016

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Old Trafford

It would be stretching it to suggest Manchester United are starting to build up a head of steam but they are at least looking vaguely dangerous.

A shout comes from near Old Trafford's directors box: "Who wants to score?" In fact it has been shouted three times now.

    Is it Ed Woodward?

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 63 mins

    Man Utd 0-0 West Ham

    John Hartson

"Manchester United have come out with a lot more intent in the second half, the passing is quicker."

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 60 mins

    Man Utd 0-0 West Ham

I have seen that appeal again and the ball did hit Winston Reid on the arm, but only after first hitting his thigh.

Reid is now replaced by Pedro Obiang, as Chiekhou Kouyate goes back to centre-half.

  18. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 59 mins

    Man Utd 0-0 West ham

Anthony Martial beats his man on the left and rolls it across the 18-yard line, good ball to pick out Ander Herrera. His touch is a bit heavy but he cracks in a shot which Winston Reid blocks - but with which part of his anatomy?

Manchester United, and their vocal fans, say hand. Referee Martin Atkinson disagrees.

Marcus Rashford then has an effort charged down. Much better from the hosts.

Yes Josh - though someone keeps green lighting sequel after sequel after sequel. I would have turned over by now, to be honest...

Manchester United free-kick, Anthony Martial heads it down but Angelo Ogbonna gets in the way of it.
