The second half has yet to get going. Wake up! West Ham now win a free-kick midway through the United half but Marouane Fellaini clears.

    Man Utd 0-0 West Ham

    John Hartson
Former Arsenal and Wales striker on BBC Radio 5 live

"I can't understand Louis van Gaal's tactic of playing Marouane Fellaini as a sitting, holding midfielder player. Why he does it I will never, never know.

"When he was at Everton he had some games at centre-forward. He is much more effective when he is in the opponent's box causing defenders trouble."

Tottenham, who have just gone two up at Villa, look like scoring every time they attack. Manchester United are a world away from that.

Viv:, external West Ham should have had at least a goal in the 1st half, need more pace upfront & to be clinical. Enner or Sakho on!

James Atkins:, external However weak the players, the manager has to fire them up and fill them with burning desire to win. Not sure van Gaal does.

Smokey Mcsaw:, external Another awful first half from united, for the life of me I have no clue why LVG hasn't been sacked.

Do Manchester United need a{nother} rebuild?

Would only keep the younger players to be honest. Rooney, Fellaini, Carrick even Mata can go plus the usual crocks. It's time to build again

    John Hartson
Former Arsenal and Wales striker on BBC Radio 5 live

"It's not been great and it has not hit top gear yet. West Ham have looked the more threatening, and as far as Manchester United are concerned Darren Randolph has not had anything to do."

West Ham have looked the more fluent side while Manchester United are stodgy and lacking inspiration - but there is still nothing in this FA Cup quarter-final.

United looked to be playing by numbers without anything instinctive or off the cuff. The home fans will expect more kicking towards the Stretford End.

Aaron Cresswell puts another fine ball in which tests David de Gea. There goes the half-time whistle, Andy Carroll coming over to hug Cresswell as the players trudge off.

The game is stuttering to half-time here. I would suggest that we could be heading for a replay but the other quarter-finals have all caught fire in the last 15 minutes or so...

Michael Devlin:, external Take Fellaini off before he gets sent off. Shouldn't be in the team to begin with.

Desmond Oguda:, external Am I the only one who thinks David De Gea is the most overworked goalkeeper in England?

Paulinator Maximus:, external Carroll is only on to soften the United defence up. He'll make way for Sakho 2nd half. Not sure United have the same quality.
