Ashley Young is indeed on at half-time for Manchester United, Marcus Rashford is off. That should see Anthony Martial back through the middle where surely he should be all of the time?

Leicester are NINE (9 - nine - 9) points clear at the top of the Premier League as it stands. Can Spurs shave two of those off in the second 45 minutes? Does it even matter any more?

Paul Willett: Watford away at Sheffield Wednesday on a Tuesday night. Missed the first half because a pig was loose on the motorway. Really. They shut it down for an hour while the police tried to catch it. Wasn't all bad though - game was 1-1 when we got there but finished 4-1 to the Golden Boys.

"A draw would be a fair result. It's been very congested in there, Martial needs to show  a touch more end product. But if anyone looked like scoring it was Tottenham."

Wale Ibraheem: Don't really understand Van Gal tactics, Mata playing wide and Lingard playing in hole is mismatch and useless.

"Tottenham have certainly had the best chance of the game so far -  Lamela's missed header really was a sitter. But United have had most of the possession and they've got Anthony Martial into some good positions. He's let his side down a bit."

As part of a weekend break in Madrid, my wife and I secured tickets for the Real v Atletico derby. We turned up at the Bernabeu on Sunday night only to find the match had taken place the night before. Later that night I ate horse meat by mistake and fell over a bollard. Good weekend.

"Manchester United spent a lot of money on Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger came with a real reputation but I still think their best central midfielder is Michael Carrick. He's a really talented player. I think Roy [Hodgson] will be very impressed with him."

Fine play from Mousa Dembele in midfield spreads the ball out wide to Erik Lamela but he is stripped of the ball by Timothy Fosu-Mensah in a robust challenge. Fosu-Mensah is a unit.

It's a much better game now, as Kyle Walker motors into the penalty area but gets caught between a shot and a cross and David de Gea hauls it in. The tempo is up, the fans are up, the game is up and running at last...
