Andy Tullock, London: Went out night before Hull City's home second-leg play-off v Watford in 2008 but promised an early finish. So friends stole my phone & put clock back 2 hours. Made it just in time to see Barmby equalise on 43rd min. Windass's Wembley Winner made up for it!

The pre-match DJ has had to earn his corn today with an extra half-hour of music needed. He's had to dig into the bag of vinyl and chuck on some Abba but he'll be relieved to see the teams in the tunnel at White Hart Lane.

A bit of Star Wars to welcome the sides - game time!

Got stuck in traffic on the way to Spurs vs Man Utd back in 2001. Arrived at the Lane at half time with Spurs 3-0 up. Utd won 5-3...

    Tim

I turned up 10 mins late to a Villa-Bolton game many years ago due to traffic, arriving as the game went 2-2 to then watch a 0-0 as it ended 2-2. You can turn up in 80th min these days and still not miss a Villa goal!!

    PK, Glos

While at University in Sheffield, decided to go and watch Carlisle who were playing at Chester. After being stuck at Stockport railway station for 2 hrs finally got to Chester at Half Time and they were cashing up the turnstiles. Managed to get in just, we won 2-0. So all was OK in the end.

So Stuart Pearce doesn't think the delay will be an issue. Mind you, his pre-match routine consisted of listening to a Stranglers LP, slide-tackling Terry Butcher and then shouting uncontrollably into the face of David Platt for seven minutes straight. Psycho!

    Stuart Pearce
Ex-England defender at White Hart Lane for BBC Radio 5 live

"Manchester United's players walked into the stadium about 20 minutes ago and have only just come out to warm up on the pitch now. They don't seem to be in much of a hurry. Normally after 20 minutes of warming up players are ready to start so I don't think it'll affect them."

"Why didn't you set off earlier Louis?"

A taxi to a match? Fraught with danger!

And the clocks going forwards/backs has caught out many a fan in the past...

Ordered a taxi in London Docklands to go to Millwall v Wolves. Driver insisted on taking us to the Valley, then took us an hour to get to The Den. Add a toilet stop for the daughter and son in law and a Poliss Road closure finally got to the Den for start of second half. Wolves were 3-0 up, final score 3-3, we had a few beers though.

Went to see Muse at Wembley Stadium on a Saturday night in 2010 when Birmingham City were at home to Liverpool the next day. Stayed at a friend's place - one early alarm, a bus, two tubes, a train and the long walk to St Andrews later, I made it 2 minutes before kick-off. After all that, it ended 0-0...

The clocks going forward has caught me out before. Arrived at Griffin Park at half time.

Will we ever see Harry Kane wearing the red and white of Manchester United? Stranger things have happened.

One man who knows the pros and cons of such a move better than most - well, better than everyone - is Teddy Sheringham.

Ted moved from the Lane to Old Trafford in 1997 and won the Treble.

"Timing’s a funny thing in football because you have to take the opportunity when it arises," Sheringham told the Evening Standard., external

“If you don’t, another striker might go to United or Real Madrid or whoever we’re talking about and you won’t get the chance again for another four or five years.

"I’m sure there are top clubs looking at Harry and they’d be prepared to break the bank just because of the way he plays and the way he wants to score goals every time he gets the ball."

  14. LVG not happy with London trafficpublished at 16:01 British Summer Time 10 April 2016

Tottenham v Man Utd (16:30 BST)

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal: "How will we be affected by the delay? That we can only say afterwards! Tottenham also had problems because they have to wait, and we had to hurry.

"I have already had an experience with Barcelona against Arsenal so I knew how London is. It is unbelievable! We have driven around in circles. It is unbelievable that you cannot drive to where you need to be.

"The warm-up has to change, we cannot do everything that we have to do. I am not a god, I am a simple manager but we must play very well as Tottenham are one of the best teams in the league."
