"I'm not overly sure how Lamela has missed that - it looked harder to miss than to score. Oh dear. Literally five yards out, it dropped straight onto his head. Missed the target."

  2. SITTER!published at 27 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Man Utd

One of the misses of the season! After David de Gea can only juggle a cross in front of Harry Kane, Spurs work it back into the mixer. Christian Eriksen floats the ball to the back post, Erik Lamela is onside and unmarked but he heads it wide!

He headed it the wrong way - left when it needed to go to his right. A really bad miss...

  3. CLOSE!published at 25 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Man Utd

The best spell of play all game, it starts with Danny Rose switching play superbly to Kyle Walker, and he then moves it back over to the left via Erik Lamela and Dele Alli. Christian Eriksen then takes it on and curls a shot just wide from 20-odd yards. Good effort!

  4. Postpublished at 22 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Man Utd

Manchester United win a corner which they then blaze right out of the other side of the penalty area and it is hacked away. A poor game so far, no quality or composure in possession. We've seen little or nothing from Martial, Rashford, Kane or Alli.

Jez T: Hard one to call this one. Both sides desperate for the three points to remain in the hunt for glory (champions or Europe).

Stuart Pearce is talking about how much he loves rugby league, that's how good this game is.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 17 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Man Utd

Harry Kane was offside - offside - when he met this cross from Erik Lamela but David de Gea was not to know! The Spaniard made an extraordinarily good reflex save to keep out Kane's side-footed strike from what, eight yards out? Brilliant goalkeeping.

"The way the Leicester result went Tottenham fans will be desperate for their side to win and keep pace at the top but Manchester Untied have started well - they've had the lion's share of possession and look very comfortable."

Spurs now just getting back into the game after a slow and sloppy start. They are still yet to trouble Manchester United at all though. Harry Kane is a spectator, he's had one touch.

Will: Once went to an Aussie rules game at the SCG. As we arrived the ground was in darkness, to which my mate explained was an environmentally friendly initiative to only put the flood lights on just before the game started. Turned out the match was at the ANZ Stadium on the other side of the city. Arrived there at half-time and got in for free!

No efforts on goal in the opening 10 minutes but here we go - the first one of the day as Timothy Fosu-Mensah shoots wide.

Fosu-Mensah is definitely in United's top two when it comes to double-barreled young full-backs.

Max Bell: I once didn't make Scunthorpe away at Rochdale till half-time after my 6pm post-work train from Sheffield broke down. I found two stewards arguing about the score on a fag break and bribed them half-price entry to sneak me in. For my £5 I saw three Scunthorpe goals and two Rochdale red cards. Bargain!

'You nearly won the league' is the chant from Manchester United fans aimed at Spurs fans.

Well, they got a lot nearer than you did...

On the field the men in red have started the better, on top so far.

"If Tottenham end up finishing second in the league, with Leicester finishing above will it be seen as a disappointment? They have had a fabulous campaign - they seem to have lost that soft underbelly. This is the strongest they've been in this fixture in years and I can't see Spurs losing."
