Despite that late Albion flurry, the Tottenham penalty area has been colder than a warehouse-converted flat with a broken heating system in January. West Brom's heatmap shows little to warm their fans, with only four touches in the Spurs box by the away players.

"Tottenham are so brave playing from the back - they have so much quality in that area. We talk so much about Tottenham's attacking players but it's because they're allowed to get the ball in good areas. Once they get out of that press, they are dangerous because you've lost five West Brom players and running at a back four and one holding midfield player."

Ken Banks: However much I admire this young Spurs side, I'll hate them forever if they spoil Leicester's incredible, unlikely fairytale.

Kris Jefferson: Dembele been the unsung hero of this Spurs team, absolutely controlling the game tonight!

Phil Smith: I honestly don't think I've seen a team as good to watch as Spurs in the Premier League for 5 years! #bbcfootball, external

This is even more encouraging if you are a Spurs fan...

West Brom have won just one of the last 39 Premier League games that they have conceded the first goal in (D9 L29) - this was versus Arsenal at home (2-1) in November 2015.

The Baggies' away record when conceding first in the Premier League: W3 D28 L90.

This is encouraging if you're a Spurs fan...

Tottenham have won their last 10 Premier League games in which they have scored first - the last time that they didn't was on 13 December against Newcastle at home (1-2).

    Tottenham 1-0 West Brom

That was a frantic first 45 minutes. Tottenham charged out of the blocks and have the lead their dominance deserves, albeit from the unlikely source of a Craig Dawson own goal.

West Brom have barely been in the game.

    Tottenham 1-0 West Brom

This is West Brom's best spell. They have another corner, following James McClean's blocked shot. The delivery is poor, though, and cleared at the near post.

There will be one added minute.

Tottenhamluke: Am hoping England's song doesn't end up being Mike Oldfield's "Lost in France" this summer

John, Carshalton: The Monkees, 'I'm a Believer". Leicester or Liverpool?

Rob Arthur: Every body hurts for injury prone Stoke.

Claudio Yacob has two bites of the cherry following a West Brom corner. Both efforts - the first from the edge of the box, the second just inside - are blocked by a Spurs defender.

Just a little wake-up call for Tottenham. Craig Gardner finds space on the left but Spurs are lucky that his low cross to Salomon Rondon is poor.

Soon after, there is a coming together between Kyle Walker and Rondon, during which the former had a kick at the latter. Bit naughty. He's lucky that the referee seems to have missed it.

More penalty appeals from Tottenham as Erik Lamela turns cutely and drops to the turf under a challenge from Jonny Evans. He ran into the West Brom defender, though. That ain't a penalty.

    Tottenham 1-0 West Brom

Talk about cool. Tottenham are under pressure at the back but Hugo Lloris and Toby Alderweireld take things nice and casual before finding Kyle Walker wide right to push the ball past his marker and sprint out.

This could get messy now. Tottenham come forward again and only some last-ditch defending from the Baggies defence prevents Erik Lamela's chipped cross becoming a serious threat.

Tony Pulis is screaming for his players to push out. They are so deep they are continually inviting Spurs on to them.

"It was better than a good delivery - it was unbelievable from Christian Eriksen. As good as a goal. There's not much Dawson can do. The delivery was that good - it had movement, dip and pace. If Dawson doesn't score an own goal then Jan Vertonghen would have put the ball in."

GOAL - Tottenham 1-0 West Brompublished at 32 mins

    Craig Dawson own goal

The pressure tells! Christian Eriksen delivers a free-kick into the corridor of uncertainty between keeper and defence and with Boaz Myhill staying on his line it falls on the last Baggies man to try and dive in to stop Jan Vertonghen scoring. Unfortunately for Craig Dawson, this results in him bundling the ball into his own net. Not that Spurs care. They are ahead in a game they simply have to win.

Danny Rose wants a penalty. He darts into the box to collect a pass and is challenged by James McClean. His control is poor and their is contact between the two players but there is no way it is a spot-kick. It is a contact sport, after all.

  20. Postpublished at 29 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 West Brom

Chance for West Brom. A good one as well. A cross from the right finds Craig Gardner in space on the edge of the box but he lifts his shot way over the bar.
