Some of Tottenham's counter-attacking play is a treat. They carry the ball forward with such speed and precision. 

Poor Salomon Rondon. He is in for a long night of charging down blind alleys. So far, every time he has got the ball he has looked round and seen little support before being hammered by either Toby Alderweireld or Jan Vertonghen.

Dele Alli is some player. He sends the West Brom defence one way, then the next before chipping a ball over the top. Unfortunately, his team-mates aren't quite on the same wavelength and Boaz Myhill can come out and claim the ball.

First moment of panic at the back for Tottenham. Darren Fletcher heads down a long ball forward in the box but Jan Vertonghen is able to clear under pressure from Salomon Rondon.

West Brom have somewhat weathered that early Spurs storm. They're still not seeing much of the ball but at least their defenders aren't in constant panic mode.

I think that was maybe 10 passes completed by West Brom. That is their best period of possession so far. It comes to an end with a hopeful ball forward for Craig Gardner, who is offside.

Christian Eriksen again. He goes for the top corner and comes within a few inches of finding it, the ball clipping the top of the bar as it goes over.

As you must have gathered, Spurs have raced out of the blocks like Usain Bolt. It's almost surprising that Albion have even managed 22% of the possession in these early stages...
