"What Sam Allardyce has done is get the back players playing percentages and taking away the risks. They look tighter. The full backs don’t fly forward as much and playing the same people each week means communication gets easier."

Andrew, Edinburgh: I've always taken an interest in Sunderland since my boyhood hero Craig Gordon moved to them. He's been gone for 4 years (and unfortunately now at Celtic) but I still find myself desperate for Sunderland to stay up at this stage of every season.

Alan: I want Norwich to go down. Had dinner with Delia Smith and others after the Chelsea Flower show in 1996 and she promised to send me a signed copy or her cook book. Never did. My wife has never forgiven or forgotten.

"Quique Sanchez Flores has done a brilliant job and he looks like an absolute film star.

"He has organised the team well, they concede few goals compared to the sides around them. They were a lot of people's favourites to go down at the start of the season, but he has kept them up, got them to a FA Cup semi-final. He has done a fantastic job but nothing would surprise me, look how many managers they had last season."

Flores is the fifth Watford manager in two years.

Sama Banya: Sunderland AFC because I can't wait to see how Pep reacts to Big Sam's first line up and Cattermole's tackles.

James Rolfe: I have a soft spot for Sunderland because I always liked the Sunderland flying boat after reading the old commando comics.

"Having seen West Brom throw a large spanner in Tottenham's title challenge works, West Ham will know their opponents aren't in beach mode yet.

"The Hammers need the points to strengthen their hold on sixth place, which would give them a spot in the Europa League.

"Liverpool and Southampton are breathing down their neck and although seventh place might still be enough should Manchester United win the FA Cup, Slaven Bilic is understandably keen for his side to keep matters in their own hands.

"West Ham's form is by far the better of the two; they're unbeaten in nine, while West Brom are looking for a first win in seven."

  11. Jones invited to the Palacepublished at 12:52 British Summer Time 30 April 2016

Newcastle v Crystal Palace (15:00 BST)

Will a pep talk from England rugby union head coach Eddie Jones inspire Palace today?

Palace might have booked a 21 May FA Cup final date with Manchester United but they have won once in the last 18 Premier League games and are not mathematically safe.

"We share a couple of professional friends," said Pardew after inviting Jones to training on Thursday.

"One of the reasons I invited him was to give us a little bit of a lift. We had a few words with the team about complacency and what good teams do. If the players can't take on board his comments then we are in trouble."

"Rafa Benitez knows how to organise a team and Newcastle do look better defensively.

"It can’t change overnight but they have shown lot more fight. It makes you think what position would they be in if he was there earlier?

"It is still tough, I think Newcastle are in lot of trouble. It is a massive game today."

  14. 'The match is a sideshow'published at 12:42 British Summer Time 30 April 2016

    Everton v Bournemouth (15:00 BST)

    Martin Fisher
    Match of the Day commentator

"This looks like being one of those days when the match is a sideshow.

"There is a growing hostility towards Roberto Martinez amongst Evertonians frustrated by their lowly league position, angered by their awful home record, embarrassed by their derby defeat and not at all placated by two brilliant cup runs that brought semi-final heartbreak.

"There will be banners, there will be chants and the mood could turn nasty - especially if Bournemouth inflict a ninth defeat on Everton at Goodison Park.

"And as Steve McClaren discovered to his cost last month, the smallest club in the Premier League are well capable of banging in the final nail."

Tom, from Newcastle:  I'm a Villa fan living in Newcastle. Slightly torn, but would quite like them and Sunderland to join us in the Championship so there's still the possibility of bragging rights over work colleagues next season!

Will from York:  My dad's old flat mate supports Norwich, one of the nicest guys around and is part of the brilliantly named 'southwest canaries supporters club'. Has always supported me through thick and thin (mainly thin) as a supporter of Preston, so it's fitting to do the same!

  17. 'Sunderland's toughest game?'published at 12:34 British Summer Time 30 April 2016

    Stoke v Sunderland (15:00 BST)

    Guy Mowbray
    Match of the Day commentator

"For a team nicknamed 'The Black Cats', Sunderland seem to have a lot of bad luck.

"They've arguably been the best team in the bottom half since January but haven't been able to match performances with results that would have made them safe by now.

"Still, the majority view seems to be that they'll stay up, and I agree - but think that this could be their toughest remaining game.

"Mark Hughes will demand a reaction to being thumped for four in three successive games, and there's still the carrot for Stoke of a third successive best-ever Premier League season. They've got to win all their last three to do it."

  18. 'Now or never for Newcastle'published at 12:28 British Summer Time 30 April 2016

Newcastle v Crystal Palace (15:00 BST)

    Jonathan Pearce

    Alan PardewImage source, Reuters

"Alan Pardew would hate to be the man to all but send Newcastle United down.

"For all the bitter social media attacks on him in his last months in charge, he still has a big place in his heart for a club that wouldn't be in its current perilous predicament if he had stayed.

"But if he picks up a point on his return, the Toon will be effectively doomed.

"A Geordie win, though, would give Rafa Benitez a great chance of keeping them up. Palace haven't won there since 1998. Focus might be blurred with Wembley on the minds of some.

"It's now or never for Newcastle. Aleksandar Mitrovic is key."
