Away from the glitz and glamour of the Premier League, it's the final day of the regular National League season.

Cheltenham have already secured the title but there's a a terrific story brewing in the play-offs.

Braintree - population 41,000, average gate 705 - could be within three games of the Football League.

The Essex club are also managed by a PE teacher.

    Stoke v Sunderland (15:00 BST)

Stoke are safely cushioned in mid-table on 47 points but they've endured a difficult couple of weeks.

Mark Hughes' side have shipped 14 goals in their last four games, and have picked up only one point.

"It's wrong to define the season by the last three games. We're on the same points in the same position in the table compared to last year," said Hughes.

"We don't like how goals are coming too easy for the opposition and we really need to address that. That's the expectation."

    Stoke v Sunderland (15:00 BST)

    It's crunch time for Sunderland.

Beat Stoke today, and they could move three points away from danger if other results go their way.

But if they lose, and Newcastle and Norwich win, they could drop below the dreaded dotted line.

"For us, it's trying to achieve as many wins as we can as quickly as we can and not have to rely on the last game now, if we possibly can," said manager Sam Allardyce.

  10. Will Pardew bring Toon doom?published at 10:16 British Summer Time 30 April 2016

Newcastle v Crystal Palace (15:00 BST)

Plenty of narratives going on at St James' Park this afternoon.

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew returns to his former club and a win for the visitors could all-but end Newcastle's hopes of staying up.

But Palace have found three points hard to come by in recent months - they've only had one league victory in 2016.

The Magpies, meanwhile, look rejuvenated under Rafa Benitez. They've picked up five points from their last three games. But will it be a case of too little too late?

  12. Howe to Everton?published at 10:06 British Summer Time 30 April 2016

    Everton v Bournemouth (15:00 BST)

Reports have circulated this week that Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe could be the man to replace under-fire Roberto Martinez at Everton.

So what does Howe make of it all?

"I don't think I have to reaffirm my commitment here every week, which seems to be a regular pattern. I love it here and I'm committed to the job," said Howe, who's overseen Bournemouth's rise from League One to the Premier League.

"When you're a manager yourself you have the full support and understanding of other managers. It's a very difficult profession and you're judged constantly every week on your results, on a lot of aspects of your job. It's very tough at this level."

Some Everton fans feel Roberto Martinez's time at Goodison Park is up yet the Spaniard says he is "ready to fight more than ever".

"We are all hurting together," says the former Wigan boss following a poor end to the campaign.

Martinez's relationship with some fans has become fractured following a seven-match run without a win, which includes a 4-0 defeat at neighbours Liverpool and defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final.

"I understand their [fans] passion. Football without passion makes no sense," added Martinez. "I always encourage huge expectations and drive for silverware. When you are not in those positions then scrutiny should be there."

Arsene Wenger says "difficult climate" at Emirates Stadium cost Arsenal title

As mentioned in Saturday's papers, there seems to be a bit of tension building at Arsenal.

During Saturday's home game against Norwich, fans' groups Black Scarf Movement, RedAction and the Arsenal Supporters Trust want supporters to raise placards reading: "Time for change. Arsenal is stale, fresh approach needed."

And speaking before the game, boss Arsene Wenger hasclaimed the "very difficult climate" at home contributed to his team losing out on the Premier League title.

Is Wenger right when he says his critics have gone "too far"?
