More of the same for Bayern Munich as they continue to monopolise possession, but Benfica have not given them much of a chance since that second-minute goal. They'd take a 1-0 defeat all day...

Thirty seconds into the second half and Blackburn are 1-0 ahead against Sheffield Wednesday thanks to Craig Conway's opener.

Brighton are 2-1 up against Birmingham, heaping more pressure on leaders Burnley who are drawing 0-0 against Cardiff. As it stands, just two points separate Burnley, Middlesbrough and Brighton at the top of the Championship.

    Barcelona 0-1 Atletico Madrid

The nine outfielders for Atletico are all basically playing at centre-back. GET OUT.

Sub for the visitors now as Augusto Fernandez replaces the impressive Yannick Carrasco.

  4. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:56 British Summer Time 5 April 2016

    Barcelona 0-1 Atletico Madrid

A body swerve of Chrissy Waddle proportions from Neymar completely sells two defenders and the Brazilian then plants a curling shot from 18 yards out against the crossbar! Lovely effort.

Filipe Luis then makes a sliding tackle to rob Lionel Messi on the six-yard line! The crowd are up, the place is rocking, the game is buzzing...

A really captivating spectacle now! Atletico flash a cross across goal at one end before Barca attack, Neymar clips a cross in and Lionel Messi takes it on the chest. It's an overhead kick coming up, and he flashes it wide!

    Close.

Atletico have slinked further and further back into their half since Fernando Torres' dismissal - as shown by their average position graphic on the right.

Expect them to retreat even further now. Backs to the wall.

    Barcelona 0-1 Atletico Madrid

A second away goal for the 10-men of Atletico would make life extraordinarily interesting and Saul's cross finds former Chelsea left-back Filipe Luis in a great area - but his header is blocked by Javier Mascherano.

Not all of our readers are in London. I promise...

Totally deserved red card. Atletico just trying to foul Barca. Disgusting way of playing football. Shameful.

    From Mark, London

Torres definitely slipped. Never a yellow.

    Andrew from London

No, sorry Tom I don't agree. I've seen worse tackles in PL but the refs give nothing so why are the rules different in CL for the same sport?

Luis Suarez is a lucky boy too - he lashed out at Juanfran in a challenge that was missed by me - and more importantly, the officials. If referee Felix Brych had had a clear view of that I think it's a red card...

Bolton can't quite be relegated this evening, but the Championship's bottom side are hurtling towards League One at some speed. They're 3-0 down at Brentford and it's not looking good for the Trotters.

At the other end of the table, leaders Burnley have had a couple of chances but it's 0-0 at half-time between them and Cardiff.

Middlesbrough fans will be happy with what's happening at Turf Moor. As it stands, Boro - who are leading Huddersfield 2-0 - are just a point adrift of the Championship leaders.

There's a lot of you questioning that red card. Let me assure you - that was a definite red card! A stupid challenge from Fernando Torres. A second yellow every day of the week. Even a Tuesday!

Pep Guardiola will be thinking that his side should be at least 2-0 up, they have utterly dominated Benfica. You'd want at least a few more ahead of the second leg.

    Barcelona 0-1 Atletico Madrid

I'm all for Diego Simeone's passion and theatrics on the touchline but he cannot defend Fernando Torres tonight. What a stupid tackle and he may have ruined the game and his side's chances of progressing. They have a long time to hang on with 10 men now. Barca need to lift it big style though.
