"After the first 15 minutes, City have worked harder further up the pitch to win the ball back. They should be 1-0 up after Sergio Aguero's missed penalty.

"PSG showed their ability early on with their passing but showed nothing in the final third. City are playing at a lot higher tempo and getting their rewards.

"The system PSG are playing, the players you expect to do things with the ball, are in the middle of the park. They don't have the quality on the wings, they can't get round a man and put the ball in the box. With 4-3-3, they ask more questions.

"City went higher and higher as the half grew on and have sniffed them out. They sat deep early on but then the full-backs pushed on and the front three can get on the ball. They look more likely to win it."

I'm horrendous at football, once scoring a hat-trick of own goals in five-a-side, but I'm glad to say I've never done this.

Although I suppose scoring a hat-trick of own goals is probably worse...

    Real Madrid 2-0 Wolfsburg (2-2)

Half time in Madrid as well, where Real Madrid have clawed themselves back into this game. The tie is all square on aggregate.

The referee blows his whistle to bring an end to a first half in which Manchester City should have been ahead but for Sergio Aguero's penalty miss.

"PSG have switched to four at the back since Thiago Motta went off, with Marquinhos pushing forward to midfield and those wing-backs - Maxwell and Gregory van der Wiel now operating as orthodox full-backs. They are still looking to join the attack whenever possible, though."

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:31 British Summer Time 12 April 2016

Man City 0-0 PSG (agg 2-2)

A forced change for PSG as Thiago Motta has taken a knock and he is replaced by Lucas.

That results in a change of formation, the visitors going 4-4-2 with Lucas and Angel di Maria on the wings and leaving a strike partnership of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani.

PSG players are largely encamped inside their own half. They've barely set foot in Manchester City's area as half-time approaches.

"City have come to terms with PSG's three at the back. The full-backs are now pushing forward and that has allowed the front three to play with more freedom."

  9. CLOSE!published at 20:26 British Summer Time 12 April 2016

Man City 0-0 PSG (agg 2-2)

PSG's defending has been atrocious at times, needlessly giving the ball away in dangerous positions. Jesus Navas almost capitalises on one such error as he pounces on Serge Aurier's wayward pass and clips an effort just wide of the post with Kevin Trapp beaten.

Despite that penalty miss, it is still all good as far as Manchester City are concerned. They go through with a goalless draw after scoring twice in Paris.

A Zlatan Ibrahimovic free-kick aside, there has been very little attacking threat from the visitors.

A stretcher is brought on and there are a few concerned faces in the stands.

After a minute or two, Sergio Aguero is able to hobble off and then eventually jogs back onto the pitch. Nothing to see here.

Real Madrid 2-0 Wolfsburg (agg 2-2)

As if Wolfsburg didn't have enough problems, they now have to play the rest of the tie without their star player Julian Draxler.

The World Cup winner with Germany has gone off injured to be replaced by Max Kruse.

Rain is falling in the Spanish capital but the home fans are oblivious after Cristiano Ronaldo's quickfire double.

Sergio Aguero lands awkwardly after challenging for the ball and is down clutching his ankle. A worry for Manchester City? He may have missed a penalty but he has still been the hosts' most potent attacking threat.

"Utter disbelief from the City fans in front of me at that Sergio Aguero penalty miss. One old gent is still on his feet, head in his hands. I imagine every single home supporter feels the same way. How costly will it prove?"

How costly could that penalty prove to be? Manuel Pellegrini knows that was a big chance, replays showing him screwing up his face as Sergio Aguero missed. Talk about unexpected.

Key now will be how Aguero reacts.
