"A good little spell for City, asking a few questions. They have got closer to the PSG players now and winning the ball further up the pitch."

David Silva and Kevin de Bruyne are linking up superbly at times, both on the same wavelength. They link up to forge another City opportunity as De Bruyne spots Silva ghosting into the box and picks him out with a peach of a ball. Silva's cross is blocked, but promising football from Manchester City.

Man City 0-0 PSG (agg 2-2)

Manchester City may not be seeing much of the ball, but when they do get it they almost make it count.

Twice in quick succession they have chances on goal. The first comes from good build-up play between Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva, before Sergio Aguero thumps a shot into the side netting.

Then, Aguero whacks a dipping effort from outside the box just wide after Zlatan Ibrahimovic loses possession. The Swedish striker has no interest in attempting to win it back. Zlatan does what Zlatan wants.

"The home fans definitely do not approve of some of Spanish referee Carlos Velasco Carballo's early decisions but otherwise it has gone a bit quiet here after that frenetic start when City and their fans seemed to feed off each other and put the visitors under intense pressure.

"PSG have settled down into their quick-fire passing game and are looking to get both wing-backs forward at every opportunity. It is interesting to see that Maxwell and Gregory van der Wiel do not look to instantly drop back into their own half even when City win the ball back."

"The midfield of PSG are dominating possession, City midfielders Fernando and Fernandinho don't want to be on the ball.

"City are relying too much on Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva to make things happen. The full-backs really have to be more braver and get on the ball."

Meanwhile, in Manchester a great chance for PSG as Zlatan Ibrahimovic curls a free-kick up over the wall and it is dipping under the crossbar until Joe Hart punches over. Fine save. PSG the better side now.

Oh my! It is the Cristiano Ronaldo show as he eradicates Wolfsburg's advantage with a quick-fire double. His second is a glancing header from a corner.

Eighty-eight seconds between the goals. Could be a long night for Wolfsburg.

Man City 0-0 PSG (agg 2-2)

PSG rested nine first team players in Ligue 1 at the weekend. They can afford to, having wrapped the league title up in about, oh 1991. It feels like ages since they won it anyway.

The chance to rest players gives them the luxury of having the big names fresh for important games like this one, and they are starting to get a grip on this tie. The hosts are seeing more of the ball at the moment and it is City who have some defending to do.

Real Madrid need a goal quickly and they have set off at a frightening pace at a packed Bernabeu.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema are looking lively already while defender Sergio Ramos has seen an early header come off the top of the bar from a corner.

"City have to work harder. They have to get closer to the PSG players, you need to step in to them. At the moment, it is too easy for them to find the space and get a pass off. City need to up the tempo.

"Full-back Gael Clichy and Bakary Sagna need to get on the ball, they are the spare men. Jesus Navas doesn't need to be so far back, he needs to push up the pitch."

This is what Manchester City need to be careful of though.

After withstanding an early bit of pressure, PSG push forward on their first attack and former Manchester United winger Angel di Maria pokes a ball through the defence to set Edinson Cavani through on goal. The pass it too heavy, though, and Joe Hart gathers.

The crowd, after enthusiastic start, have suddenly gone a bit subdued.

This game is barely five minutes old, with no clear chances let alone goals, and the atmosphere inside the Etihad is already white-hot. Some people say City's fans have not bought into the Champions League and don't care too much about it - on this evidence, they do now.

Cracking start by Manchester City, who are being roared forward by their fans.

Sergio Aguero is particularly lively, chasing and harrying defenders and he forces one into an error before snaffling the loose ball and then charging forward. Aguero slips a pass to David Silva, who then finds Kevin de Bruyne to his right, but the forward's low cross is blocked.
