Goonerama: This Atletico side has to be one of the greatest defensive units of all time. Have to admit, I wouldn't watch every week though.
Vieira151: How amazing would it be if Atletico won the Champions League by beating Barca, Bayern and Real Madrid in a row?

Dave Wood: Vamos Atleti!
Merseyside_Gladiator: Can't wait for Atletico Madrid vs Leicester City in Champions League next season. It's gonna be a belter.
Atletico Madrid 1-0 Bayern Munich
Mission accomplished for Atletico Madrid. A very professional job and Saul Niguez's goal gives Atletico the advantage.
It's a slender advantage, but you'd fancy that defence to cause Bayern more headaches in the return leg.
Atletico Madrid 1-0 Bayern Munich
Once again everyone apart from Fernando Torres is back defending. Atletico have shut up shop.
Thomas Muller flicks a pass to Arturo Vidal, but his shot lacks power and Jan Oblak scoops it up. Too easy.
Atletico Madrid 1-0 Bayern Munich
The 90 minutes are up and the fourth official's board shows four minutes of added time. Pep Guardiola scratches his head as he looks at the ground. A frustrating night for Bayern.

Joe Wedgwood: Simeone has this Atleti side drilled better than any. Formidable, skilled, powerful. Get him to England someone!
Ross Davis: 10/10 for Clattenberg. He isn't buying any of the theatrics and the game has flowed much better than these match-ups usually do.

Nick Bush: Partey needs to go to Leicester so we can hear "Partey to Vardy to create a party!"
Claudio, you know what to do. Dilly Ding Dilly Dong!
Atletico Madrid 1-0 Bayern Munich
Yellow card for Arturo Vidal after an ill-tempered challenge. Mark Clattenburg has done a cracking job in this game. He's taken no nonsense.

Heelish Bishop: Atletico proving, like Real two years ago, that possession means absolutely nothing unless you can do something with it.
Atletico Madrid 1-0 Bayern Munich
But will it be Partey time (sorry) for Atletico in four minutes or so? Douglas Costa whips in a cross, maybe a shot, and Jan Oblak saves. No danger for the Atletico shotstopper.
Atletico Madrid 1-0 Bayern Munich
Applause for goalscorer Saul Niguez as Diego Simeone decides to bring him off. On in his place is Thomas Partey.
Oh the fun the headline writers would have if Partey played in the Premier League.
Atletico Madrid 1-0 Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich lose possession and Pep Guardiola is fuming at his players for not immediately attempting to recover. He's right to have a go as Atletico immediately attack with pace and Medhi Benatia ends up bringing down Koke. Benatia is booked, Manuel Neuer is clearly not happy as he races out of goal to have a go at Benatia. He, too, is booked as a result.
Atletico Madrid 1-0 Bayern Munich
David Alaba fancies another go from distance but he is leaning back as he shoots and sends the ball up into the stands.
Atletico Madrid 1-0 Bayern Munich
Pep Guardiola makes another change as Medhi Benatia is on for Juan Bernat and he takes his place in the Bayern defence.
Just over 10 minutes for the visitors to find a goal.

Shamsheer Chelsea: It looks like Simeone has got the remote control for that team. What a man.
lfcway: That was vintage Torres. So unlucky.
Atletico Madrid 1-0 Bayern Munich
So close!
I said a goal might come from nowhere and it almost does, but not for Bayern.
Instead it is Atletico who counter quickly and it's wonderful stuff from Fernando Torres. He runs on to Koke's pass, sails past a defender and clips a shot towards the far post, but it strikes the woodwork. Koke's follow up is then saved.
Vintage Torres, there.
Atletico Madrid 1-0 Bayern Munich
If Bayern do score, I can see the goal taking us all by surprise. Some of their best efforts have come out of nowhere and that's the case again as Arturo Vidal absolutely wellies a shot from outside the box, it is arrowing towards the top corner but Jan Oblak dives across to punch away. That will sting a bit.
Atletico Madrid 1-0 Bayern Munich
Rare bit of defending to do for Bayern Munich as Atletico Madrid win a couple of corners in quick succession. Koke takes them both, but can't make them count.
