Everton almost carve Manchester United open.

John Stones' ball forward finds Seamus Coleman on the right. The Irishman plays in a brilliant, low cross which Timothy Fosu-Mensah brilliantly clears from under his own crossbar.

Shortly after, Anthony Martial concedes a free-kick on the left.

Leighton Baines takes it, feeding former Manchester United man Tom Cleverley on the edge of the box, but the midfielders shot lacks direction.

Everton finally coming into the game.

And as Manchester United to clear the corner, the ball falls invitingly to Phil Jagielka, whose shot from eight-yards out is straight at David de Gea.

"I wonder if Barkley is carrying an injury? He's not going past half pace. People are going past him and he's getting caught on the ball. You expect more from him."

Old man v young man.

A real battle on between 33-year-old defender Phil Jagielka and 18-year-old striker Marcus Rashford.

The home player can't get away though and the experienced campaigner keeps him in check.

Everton haven't made much impression in this game so far and don't look like breaking through the United backline. They lack ideas and inspiration. Ross Barkley needs to quickly conjure up some magic from somewhere.

"The game's changed a little bit and I think it's down to Baines as much as anyone else. He has pushed forward a bit more and I want to see that from Baines and Coleman. When Everton are at their best those two are pushing on."

Manchester United only 1-0 up but pulling out the party tricks. Juan Mata with a round-the-corner ball to Anthony Martial, whose flick from behind is perfect into his own path, but the Frenchman is crowded out by Everton defenders.
