One minute of stoppage time and there's just enough time for West Ham to fashion something after Marcos Rojo gives away a needless free-kick. In the book the defender goes.

Dimitri Payet is stood over the ball...

"I think Manchester United have taken the sting and atmosphere out of the game brilliantly.

"I like the balance of the team. Martial coming in from the wing, inter-changing with Rashford, Fellaini is finding space."

I know there's plenty of people who have enjoyed a laugh at Manchester United's expense this season but there's been some good football from them in this game. They've had the better chances and, from 20 minutes onwards, they've played the better football. Can they keep it up?

"It's been an intriguing tie but in the final third it's lacked a bit of quality. For Manchester United no one wants to take charge of the situation in and around the West Ham area."

Sophie Gayter: Would take Carroll to the Euros if fit. Offers something different & unplayable on his day. Great option to have on the bench.

Ander Herrera touches the ball into the path of Marcus Rashford, his shot is blocked but Michael Carrick is on the loose ball, volleying just wide of goal from outside the area. Manchester are finishing this half on top.

"It's a great night for football. It's a mild evening and the rain is now coming down making the pitch very slick. Now is the time for getting some shots at goal and making it tricky for the keepers."

It looks pretty in the picture below but it is pouring down now. Slaven Bilic has been striding along the edge of his technical area throughout this half, but he bobs back to grab a West Ham bobble hat. It is immediately soaked through. Got to be an umbrella next time.

Another chance for Manchester United and another fine save by Darren Randolph. It's great work by Marcus Rashford, as he holds off three West Ham players to allow Jesse Lingaard to race into a gaping hole in the Hammers backline. Rashford makes the pass and Lingaard shoots, but Randolph makes himself big and blocks the shot.

A chance out of nothing for West Ham as Andy Carroll's speculative hook is chased by Enner Valencia. He beats Chris Smalling for pace and once again has sight of goal, but his shot lacks power and it is another comfortable save for David de Gea. Valencia's got to do better with chances like that.

This game got off to a high tempo start but things have settled down now. Manchester United did well to soak up that early West Ham pressure and have also managed to subdue the home crowd.
