  1. YELLOW CARDpublished at 79 min

Scotland substitute Liam Bridcutt earns a yellow card but it could be red after a two-footed challenge on defender Erik Sviatchenko.

Both sets of players lock horns before referee Svein Oddvar Moen restores calm.

Sviatchenko dusts himself down and we're back under way.

  2. CLOSE!published at 76 min

    Scotland 1-0 Denmark

Incredibly, Scotland come within a whisker of doubling their lead. Ikechi Anya slaloms past a couple of challenges before whipping a ball in from the left and Matt Ritchie's goalbound effort is brilliantly blocked by Christensen a couple of yards from the line!

It'll be a quiet flight home for the Danes if they fail to find an equaliser. Craig Gordon comes to Scotland's rescue with a cracking double save to deny Eriksen and Braithwaite.

Seconds later, Jorgensen blazes over after the Scots are carved open again...

"As encouraging as it was to see John McGinn and Kieran Tierney start this game, it would be nice to see Jamie Murphy or Oliver Burke given a chance to show what they can do on this stage."

Denmark are dominating possession but are not good enough to break Scotland down once they get to the 20-yard mark. It is a wee bit better by Scotland in the last few minutes, but there is no drive or ambition.

  12. Scotland 1-0 Denmarkpublished at 60 min

Somewhere in London, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino will have his head in his hands on the couch.

Christian Eriksen, in space 25 yards from goal, blazes over the bar when you'd suspect the midfielder to find the top corner.

Scotland's goal continues to lead a charmed life; nevertheless, they lead courtesy of that early Matt Ritchie strike.

  13. CLOSE!published at 55 min

    Scotland 1-0 Denmark

Another attack by the Danes and another howitzer from Højbjerg that whistles past the post. Craig Gordon dives this time and looks to have it covered, anyway.

The hosts are in need of something to stem the tide.

Denmark are enjoying more and more of the ball in this second half and Højbjerg sends a shot whistling narrowly over the bar with Craig Gordon looking on nervously.

Can Scotland find a spark to double their lead and keep the resurgent Danes at bay?

Re: 20.57- 45 minutes against a poor Denmark team doesn't prove anything? You had a whole campaign to prove it! England lucky? They won 10 out of 10 and just beat the world champs in their backyard but okay!
