So, Palace progress to set up a repeat of the 1990 FA Cup final.

If the 2016 showdown is anywhere near as good as the 3-3 Palace and Man United served up back then we are in for a treat.

Crystal Palace's match winner Connor Wickham speaking to BBC Sport: "I think I owed it to the boys. The first goal we concede was my fault. For my goal i knew I was going to win the header and thankfully it went in. We controlled the game from start to finish."

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew: "We have let our fans down in home games this year but we had our strongest team out there.

"With an early goal, sometimes you can sit on it. But we continued our threat throughout the game. Waford had 5-10 minutes when they bossed the game and scored, but we bossed it for 80 minutes and that is a testament to our players mentality.

"We decided to play Yannick [Bolasie] as a 10 but not in the hole. He got down the sides well. Connor [Wickham] was the big bonus for us. When we lost him to injury [earlier in the season] it was a blow. And it was good to see him have the game. This was his game. He is by no means the finished article but I think by 27 he might be.

"We will have a different gameplan against Manchester United, but that is not to say we can't control the game. We deserve to be here.

"Louis van Gaal's Manchester United career might rest on this game. He has had some awful press and I will be glad to see him at Wembley."

Crystal Palace's opening goal scorer Yannick Bolasie speaking to BBC Sport: "The goal was a great moment for myself. I didn't get to play at Wembley in the play-offs, so I'm delighted for myself and the team. The fans have been great and so has the manager."

Christophe Talbotski: United v Palace in the FA Cup final. Shaded in 1990 and all that. Seem to remember England doing quite well after it too.

Watford boss Quique Flores: "I am pleased with the performance. It was difficult to play Palace who defend with an English style and have pace and power. It was hard to coincede the first goal. It took some time to recover. We came back and in the second half we match Palace.

"In this moment, I feel we had the chance to win the match. The most important thing is that we are competitive in the semi-final.

"We have a lot of reasons to be happy this season. The main target was to stay in the Premier League. In the future when we look at the history of Watford we will see how important this season was for the club."

I just wanted to give my all. Manchester United, personally it's just another game for me. I know it's an FA Cup final but what I mean is Manchester United are just another team now for me. Meanwhile, at the King Power Stadium, Leicester have beaten Swansea 4-0 to go eight points clear at the top of the table. Bonkers season.

Emmanuel Adebayor, speaking to BBC Sport: "For me it's beautiful. I came back here six months and have a chance to play in the final for this beautiful club. I am so glad we have made it.

"The manager convinced me to come and play for the Eagles, I am very happy to be part of this team. Against Manchester United it's going to be a beautiful one. It was a big occasion for Connor as a young striker, we spoke before the game. I am very happy he got his goal today."

Where has Alan Pardew gone? As soon as that final whistle blew he ran down the tunnel. Maybe he left the oven on?

That is it! All over! Palace are through to the FA Cup final for the second time. In a repeat of their first final, in 1990, they will face Manchester United. They fully deserve it as well.
