Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone, speaking to BT Sport: "Very emotional. It was a very good first half by Bayern, they're a great team. The missed penalty gave us life.

"We had to change a bit from the first leg in terms of how we played and we showed our strengths as a team. The penalty miss by Torres hurt us but in the end it was like a movie, thrilling, with five minutes extra time."

I can't understand why everyone is celebrating a team who are overly aggressive, overly defensive and whose main aim is to nullify the opposition. Simeone is the Tony Pulis of the champions league

Jon Saka, Portsmouth: I think Leicester would not turn down the chance to snap up Simeone if Ranieri isn't able to maintain the status quo next season. Diego and the Foxes would be a perfect fit each other, given their playing styles and Leicester's current squad!

  9. 'We are ready to fight with everyone'published at 22:12 British Summer Time 3 May 2016

Bayern Munich 2-1 Atletico Madrid (Agg: 2-2)

More from Fernando Torres, speaking to BT Sport: "Sometimes when you play against a super team like Bayern you can't play the way you want, they play so quick, they had control in the first half and we suffered a lot, but in the second half we wanted to do the opposite, to have counter attacks and press high. In the end we got the goal.

"We want to win. We have a chance to write the history that nobody at Atletico has. It doesn't matter who the opponent in the final is. We are ready to fight with everyone."

Real Madrid v Man City (Agg: 0-0)

    Jermaine Jenas
    Ex-Spurs & England midfielder

"It is very hard not to be overawed when you step out on to the pitch at the Bernabeu and look around you - the stadium just keeps going up and up for what feels like forever.

"It is a special place, and it will be full of Real Madrid fans screaming their side on, so it is vital Manchester City handle the occasion as much as the opposition on Wednesday."

Pep has only had to rebuild a team once, and he had the best player ever to build around, he's taken Bayern backwards, City will be a real challenge for him, they will be the worst team he's managed by a distance and they need a major overhaul and no Messi to build it around

Ibrahim Urooj S: You heard it here first: Carlo to win it with Bayern next year. Doing to Bayern / Pep what he did to Real / Mourinho.

Viv: Wouldn't like to be in Pep's place at the post-match interview. Media backlash. He's lost three semi-finals to three La Liga clubs in his three seasons.

KoloKK: So, it wasn't about Pep at Barcelona after all. It was Messi + Iniesta + Xavi.

Jamey C Barron: City picked the wrong boss. Conte to Chelsea, Jose to United (hope not!)... So who goes for Simeone? Arsenal?

ATLETICO MADRID WIN ON AWAY GOALS

Atletico Madrid goalscorer Antoine Griezmann: "We’re delighted. It was difficult, a really hard game, we had a great opponent in front of us and we had to both defend and try to score. That’s what we did.

"They were better, but we scored an away goal, which was important. We need to keep grounded and first of all think of the Liga before the final."

    Conor McNamara
    BBC Radio 5 live commentator

"Atletico Madrid's players have come back onto the pitch to celebrate with their fans.

"The visitors from Spain are mostly housed up in the Gods in the very top tier behind a goal. "After dancing in front of this main body of fans for a few minutes, the Atleti players then noticed a smaller cluster on the far side and the entire squad went over to celebrate with them too. "It was a lovely moment and shows how much spirit this club has. They may not be one of the traditional big boys in Spain, but Diego Simeone has created a phenomenal team."
