"Toure looks like he's picking up Modric and Fernandinho is on Kroos. Aguero is going to be isolated. Navas and De Bruyne are a long way away from him out wide. Who's going to join Aguero up front? That's the worry."

With no Karim Benzema tonight, it is Jese through the middle for Real Madrid with Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo either side. As expected, the hosts have all the early possession.

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini: "Our best opportunity is to play well in defending and attacking. Their fans will demand they attack and they are very dangerous. It is important that when we get the ball we don't lose it.

"Yaya Toure has worked without problems. His experience in this game will be very important."

"Madrid are basically built on the tradition of winning the Champions League, and with Atletico waiting in the final, I wouldn't like to see the reaction if City manage to beat them.

"City are at their best moving the ball quickly and pressing teams. They've got some very talented footballers but they will have to hustle Modric and Kroos in possession. If they sit back they'll play into Madrid's hands."

Manchester City won't hope for the same result, but if we get a match that is anywhere near as thrilling as the last encounter between the two at the Bernabeu then we are in for a treat.

The two met in the group stage in the Champions League back in 2012 and, after Manchester City had taken a shock lead, late goals from Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo sealed a 3-2 win.

Geoff Ramm: I wonder how many times Pellegrini will whisper the word 'Leicester' to his players tonight?

Liz Tray: Beating Arsenal on Sunday is more important than beating Real tonight. We need third place, otherwise Pep's coming for the Europa!

Manchester City revert to a familiar-looking starting XI after making sweeping changes for Sunday's 4-2 defeat at Southampton.

Eight changes from the trip to St Mary's, with just one switch from the first leg.

Yaya Toure - who City initially wrongly said had not travelled to Madrid - starts after a thigh problem, but David Silva is missing after injuring his hamstring at the Etihad last week.

City XI: Hart, Sagna, Kompany, Otamendi, Clichy, Fernando, Fernandinho, Touré, Navas, De Bruyne, Aguero

As we know, Cristiano Ronaldo starts for Real Madrid. But he's not the only star name back to face Manchester City.

Zinedine Zidane makes seven changes from the weekend win at Real Sociedad, with Pepe, Marcelo and Toni Kroos also returning.

But Brazil holding midfielder Casemiro - who has emerged as a key player in recent months - is out with a knock.

Madrid XI: Navas, Carvajal, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo, Modric, Kroos, Isco, Bale, Jese, Ronaldo.

Lucas, London: Think the billion pounds spent on players since City were taken over removes the 'fairytale' element that is saved for the likes of Porto Dortmund or Atletico getting to or winning Champions League finals, This is well overdue for City if anything. How many tens of millions will just be sitting on their bench tonight?

The 'sold out' signs were put up a while ago at the Santiago Bernabeu - but that doesn't stop one of the world's best tennis players managing to bag a seat.

Unpredictable Australian Nick Kyrgios, in town for the Madrid Open, will be watching from the stands tonight.

Not a bad way for the Tottenham fan to relax after beating Stan Wawrinka - the world number four - in straight sets...
