Jared Maobe: That is completely mediocre from De Bruyne, how do you move away from a goal post marking?

James Liggins: Why do players never stay on the posts? How many goals could be saved if they did?! Not that Wales care!

Adam Sewell: What does defending the front post mean to you De Bruyne?

Paolo Brand: Blimey, Ashley Williams giving us Maradona vibes in that #goal celebration!

Barry: Can never write the current Welsh team out of a match! Gooooooo Wales!

Gregor Brown: I've literally walked into the room to both goals after fetching beers. Could be 5-4 tonight...

  5. CLOSE!published at 33 mins

    Wales 1-1 Belgium

What a game. This is what knockout football should be about, the clue is in the title. Yannick Carrasco flashes a cross/shot across goal and Romelu Lukaku is inches away from a tap-in before Gareth Bale runs 50 yards down the pitch and then shoots at Thibaut Courtois.

    Exhilarating stuff...

  6. 'All about the movement'published at 20:33 British Summer Time 1 July 2016

    Wales 1-1 Belgium

    Ex-Wales midfielder on BBC One

It's all about the movement from the corner. It's a great delivery. They've gone with Gareth Bale and left the captain free. It's a great downwards header.

If Kevin de Bruyne stays on the post he clears it. I don't know why he moved in, but I don't care - it's 1-1.

Ashley Williams shouldn't be out on the pitch with his injury but what a bullet header. That just shows the type of character he is.

A goal from page one of the footballing textbook, it's as simple as they come! Aaron Ramsey corner whipped in, that inexperienced Belgian defence is all at sea and Ashley Williams is unmarked six yards out. Heads it down and in!

Hazard should be off. Kicked the ball away after an offside earlier and then deliberate handball. Laws are laws.

That near-miss has shook Belgium up a bit as they try and get on the ball again. Eden Hazard is dropping very deep to orchestrate.

  12. Nainggolan's redemptionpublished at 20:29 British Summer Time 1 July 2016

    Wales 0-1 Belgium

As well as being a spectacular strike, Radja Nainggolan's goal will be particularly special for the midfielder as it is a kind of atonement.

It was Nainggolan's misplaced header which gifted Gareth Bale the chance to score Wales' winner in last year's Euro 2016 qualifier in Cardiff.

A goal of that quality - and on an occasion like this - is redemption.

What a good opportunity that was to get back into the game. Neil Taylor arrived and hit it with his wrong foot but Thibaut Courtois made a great save. Wales have had a good spell since going behind.

It's a great response from Wales. Neil Taylor had no right to be in the box but Aaron Ramsey finds him. It’s an unbelievable save from Thibaut Courtois, who throws himself to his right and gets a great hand onto it. Anywhere else from Neil Taylor and it's a goal.

Ross Quinn: Seems the biggest crime in this game is being Welsh. Belgium got away with identical tackles in more dangerous positions.

Welshcollie: Two yellow cards in five games and you miss the next match? Is that right?  #ridiculous

Kidousenshi's Avatar: Wales won't finish with 11 men at this rate

  16. GREAT SAVE!published at 26 mins

    Wales 0-1 Belgium

Neil Taylor! The best from Wales so far as Aaron Ramsey finds a pocket of space on the right, lashes in a low cross and there's left wing-back Taylor in space, on the penalty spot. He hits it well enough, right-footed, but Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois makes a flying one-handed save!

That will give an injection of belief. I can already hear the Wales fans again...

  17. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Wales 0-1 Belgium

Eden Hazard wants a foul, he doesn't get one so he picks the ball up while lying on the ground. He then throws the ball away and he doesn't get booked for either infringement.

Wales - who have already had three men in the book - are livid...

  18. YELLOW CARDpublished at 24 mins

    Wales 0-1 Belgium

A third booking for Wales already, and it's as blatant as you'll see. Kevin de Bruyne is still inside his own half but like George North he can spot a gap and exploit it from anywhere. He heads down the line and could be away until Chris Gunter hauls him over.

    BOOKED.
