France have done it, they are into the final of Euro 2016 and they will now face Portugal.

France striker Olivier Giroud: "It's an emotional night. We will savour this and then tomorrow focus on the next game in three days' time.

"It was a key moment to score the goal before half-time. The penalty changed the game. Our clinical approach in the second half changed the game.

"Antoine Griezmann has grown as this tournament has gone on. I'm delighted for him. He gives us a bit extra.

"I'd really like to write a chapter in history. Everyone wants to achieve something great on Sunday."

Germany manager Joachim Low is asked about his future. His contract runs until 2018.

"I can't predict things from tomorrow. I'm still disappointed. I won't think about that tonight.

"How I cope with that, it's difficult to answer. We haven't discussed beforehand what we would do after a loss. Maybe in two or three days we will talk about that and consider if there is anything to discuss. Maybe even tomorrow on our flight back.

"This was a good tournament for us. We had a great energy. I haven't seen too many errors in this tournament. It was a great side."

Germany manager Joachim Low: "France has succeeded to get to the final. If you win 2-0, you deserve it.

"I think they will win against Portugal. Portugal has not convinced that much in the games so far. 

"I think France are a very good side. Although we were the better side today.

"If we had scored, we could have dominated this match. If you concede in the 44th minute, everyone was shocked. I had to calm the players down in the dressing room."

Germany manger Joachim Low is asked about his future, he is under contract until 2018.

He says he won't think about it tonight, he can't predict the future.

Not a massive vote of confidence.

Germany manager Joachim Low: "Khedira and Gomez were injured, Hummels was suspended. That wasn't easy to compensate. We lost Boateng to injury and we were weaker after that.

"The side did everything I told them. We had a lot of courage. There's nothing to blame them for.

"The French didn't have any chance to press. We dominated them in midfield. We have invested everything and tried everything."

Germany manager Joachim Low: "We were the better team. We had good body language. We were good in the one on one.

"It was unfortunate that we conceded the goal. It was bad luck. 

"We had our chances. Regretfully we didn't score. We didn't have the luck we needed. But in 2012 or 2010 when we went out, the other sides were better than us.

"Today that wasn't the case. We were better than the French."

The English FA want their new manager to 'build a strong team identity' as they seek a long-term plan rather than a short-term fix after their Euro 2016 humiliation. 

Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce is the bookies' favourite but it's the FA's policy not to talk about individuals as they decide Roy Hodgson's successor. 

The three-man panel who will make the appointment, FA Technical Director Dan Ashworth, Chief Executive Martin Glenn and Vice Chairman David Gill met last Friday in Paris to discuss the way forward. 

Germany manager Joachim Low says that his side was the better team and 'not much went wrong.'

May I suggest that Antoine Griezmann's glittering play on the pitch is not mirrored in interviews? He's not alone there.

That's at least three times I've heard 'over the moon.'

France hero Antoine Griezmann: "I'm very pleased. We knew it would be very tough and we held firm defensively, our keeper played very well.

"We have to rest up well and already start thinking about the final. We will start training for it tomorrow.

"Against Portugal, it's 50-50, anything can happen in a final, it's a one-off game."
