France hero Antoine Griezmann: "It's a whole group effort. It's thanks to the group we're in the final and we're going to make the most of tonight.

"I missed my penalty in the Champions League final and I really wanted to make sure I put it in the back of the net tonight.

"I'm still very far off Michel Platini and hopefully one day I can get closer to that."

It was a good game. France did what they had to do. They were under severe pressure in the first half and stood firm. They were the better team with the star man up front. Antoine Griezmann delivered when he had to. 

Whatever decision Didier Deschamps has made in this tournament has worked. He had Paul Pogba and Griezmann on the bench one game, brought Kingsley Coman on at half-time, started with N'Golo Kante on the bench today. And they've all worked.

Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer: "It is a semi-final, there are no worse moments than losing these games. I don't want to say that we were the better side but 2-0 was not a fair result.

"Of course the penalty was crucial but we had a whole half to equalise. We had chances but couldn't take them. France took their chances.

"It would have been a catastrophe to play badly here but it's been a good tournament for us." 

Only Michel Platini in 1984 - with nine - has scored more goals at a Euros than Antonie Griezmann's haul of six.

France changed their system a little but they defended really well, they've done a fantastic job. They now go to the final and you would think, with the way it's gone so far, it should be pretty straightforward for them against Portugal.

Sean Harrison: Griezmann will get the attention, but Umtiti was man of the match. Absolutely immense, particularly in the 1st half

Peter David Smith: In theory France should thrash Portugal but then again Portugal should have beaten Greece and don't get me started on England.

If Griezmann had a Germany shirt on tonight they would have won that game. The second goal just showed you what he's all about. He's a live-wire.

Germany, like Spain, lack a Plan B at times. Plan A works nearly all the time I guess...

It is a shame for Germany, because they play unbelievable football and they're all technically good. It just wouldn't happen for them in the final third.

The France players come to salute the superb fans in the Stade Velodrome, a scene in stark contrast to the shocked Germans in the centre-circle. They look like they can't believe they lost that.

I'm actually so emotional. It's nice to see that togetherness with the team and the fans. They were brilliant at the back. The main man - Antoine Griezmann, we all knew he had to play this kind of game. We again have a hero - a striker who can make us win tournaments. Hopefully.

France took their chances. Germany have been wonderful on the eye, but Griezmann knew how to put the ball in the back of the net.

Germany were superb for long spells of the first half but in the second period they just never got it going. Rarely troubled Hugo Lloris.
