A bit of retribution for Dimitri Payet after he crocked Cristiano Ronaldo, deliberately or not, as Cedric Soares knees him in the small of the back. That will sting in the morning! Mark Clattenburg dishes out a yellow.

You'd be tempted to say that this is the final the tournament deserves so far. Can someone please create something?

Moussa Sissoko is the man! Another brilliant turn and he gets a shot away, saved by Rui Patricio.

Moussa Sissoko of Newcastle United has been the most impressive player on display so far. For the third time he beats two men and drives into the penalty area but his cross is well deflected away for a corner.

We've seen little from Antoine Griezmann, while Dimitri Payet's most telling contribution was nobbling Cristiano Ronaldo.

What a sad sight. The great Cristiano Ronaldo in floods of tears as he is carried off on a stretcher, his Euro 2016 final over after 24 minutes.

France's fans offered sympathetic applause as he went off - now we will see what effect this huge development has on this final.

Robbie Edwards: Whatever you think of Ronaldo ... You have to feel for the man he is a true sporting great.
