This game has lived up to how the tournament has gone.

It has promised so much, had its moments but not really been great.

Moussa Sissoko has been the best player on the pitch which rather sums up football in 2016. Forget all that you knew.

The Newcastle man hits a ripsnorter of a drive from maybe 25 yards, straight as an arrow but Rui Patricio is able to get across and push it powerfully away.

Portugal boss Fernando Santos has his head in his hands in the dugout. Even he would rather be somewhere else.

[Speaking just before that Portugal chance] France are just running out of ideas in the final third.

As time goes on you just feel there might be one big chance for Portugal.

What an opportunity. You have got to take them.

France won't get many chances tonight the way Portugal have defended.

There haven't been many chances but the best one yet fell to this man. Watch again as Antoine Griezmann goes close with a header.

  12. GREAT SAVE!published at 74 mins

    Portugal 0-0 France

Kingsley Coman is the key man. He beats his man on the left, slips onto his backside but is still able to gather himself and get past another. Quick feet, quick pass to find Olivier Giroud. In the area, on the left-hand side, he gets a shot away but Rui Patricio makes another good save.

    Portugal 0-0 France

Kingsley Coman has added a frisson of excitement to the action, he plays a one-two and gets into the area, running away from goal and Jose Fonte thinks about the challenge - it would be a penalty surely and he pulls out of it. Great defending in the end.

Can Coman be the match-winner? He looks as likely as anyone.

  14. Left-back, on the leftpublished at 71 mins

    Portugal 0-0 France

A lot of Portugal's play is coming down the left - left-back Raphael Guerreiro has had more touches than anyone else for his country, many of them coming in the attacking regions of the pitch.

Fabulous ball into the box and Griezmann just mistimes it.

He jumps too early and heads it as he is coming down.

A huge let off for Portugal.

If you're still sticking with this, I'm impressed. I think I would have checked out by now, you must have some ironing that needs doing or something...

    OH AND THERE'S THE CHANCE!

Kingsley Coman whips in a cross from the left, Antoine Griezmann is free eight yards out, climbs beautifully but heads it over!

Portugal look solid and France are currently struggling to lay a glove on them.

This Euro 2016 final has lacked a spark, especially since it lost Cristiano Ronaldo, but Portugal will be happy with the way they are coping.

France coach Didier Deschamps has introduced the pace of Kingsley Coman to give Portugal something different to worry about as it was all getting a little too predictable.
