More from Hull manager Steve Bruce: "We worked all week at playing on the counter attack. Derby went a little bit direct which played into our hands and then we could break.

"The full-backs have got bright futures, they want to get forward, they've got the energy levels to get up the pitch.

"We'll be in tomorrow, everybody's delighted now, but we need to keep our concentration."

  5. 'The best we've played in a long time'published at 14:41 British Summer Time 14 May 2016

    FT: Derby 0-3 Hull

Hull boss Steve Bruce tells Sky Sports: "It's a big play-off game against a good Derby team and you don't expect to win 3-0. I think it's the best we've played in a long, long time.

"When you're away from home, to start with you've got to be rock solid. I don't think they've had a chance.

"It's testament to the team and the way they've worked."

  9. 'Hopefully we can get the job done'published at 14:34 British Summer Time 14 May 2016

    FT: Derby 0-3 Hull

Hull captain Michael Dawson tells Sky Sports: "It's massive. We're only halfway there. Coming to a place like this, after them beating us twice in the league - it was a magnificent performance.

"We had patches where we didn't play as well as we know we can, but in the semi-final of a play-off, it doesn't matter how you play.

"We've got a 3-0 lead to take into Tuesday and hopefully we can get the job done."

    Steve Claridge
Ex-Leicester striker at iPro Stadium, BBC Radio 5 live

"I am absolutely stunned - I thought this was going to be a close tie. They have absolutely devastated them. Everything Hull have done has worked perfectly, everything Derby have done has just not worked.

"Hull are the team that have looked the more dangerous going forward. At 3-0 you fear for Derby in the second leg, there is nothing for them to play for."

GOAL - Derby 0-3 Hullpublished at 90+8 mins

    Andrew Robertson

Andrew Robertson has taken Hull City a giant step closer to Wembley with a superb counter-attacking goal.

Tom Ince's corner doesn't beat the first man, and Hull break clear. They break with four men on three Derby defenders and left-back Robertson has a number of options on the edge of the area. He elects to shoot and doesn't regret it when it nestles in the far corner.

Delirium for the Tigers. Despair for the Rams.

    Derby 0-2 Hull

Nick Blackman finds a little bit of space on the edge of the Hull box, or so he thinks. His strike at goal is blocked by about four Hull bodies. But Derby have a corner here. What can they do here?

    Derby 0-2 Hull

Hull manager Steve Bruce was looking around at third-choice Dusan Kuciak, yet to make his Hull debut, but Eldin Jakupovic can continue.

Then almost immediately after the restart, Hull's Chuba Akpom is put in by Mo Diame, but fires wide.

    Derby 0-2 Hull

Darren Bent has been thrown on by Derby to make a menace of himself and this is what he does here. He flicks on a long ball into the area towards Tom Ince, but Eldin Jakupovic and Moses Odubajo get in the Derby man's way.

They also smash into each other, leaving Jakupovic, himself in for the injured Allan McGregor, and Odubajo both needing treatment.

    Derby 0-2 Hull

Hull have the chance to make it 3-0 when Chuba Akpom takes the ball off the toes of the ready-to-shoot Jake Livermore and plays in Ahmed Elmohamady.

The Egyptian runs past a defender into the area but is forced wide by Scott Carson and can only hit the side netting.

    Derby 0-2 Hull

    Steve Claridge
Ex-Leicester striker at iPro Stadium, BBC Radio 5 live

"If it stays at 2-0, Derby have got the proverbial mountain to climb and on what we have seen today, you wouldn't expect them to reach those feats.

"There has been no energy in their play, they have been forcing the ball forward rather than playing it.

"They've lacked patience and control in this game and as soon as they conceded that goal you could feel in the ground the lack of anticipation as to what was going to happen.

"It's almost as if the players have taken a leaf out of that. It's been really frustrating and disappointing and Derby have been a poor second best today."
