Nor ordinarily I'd write something along the lines of 'can Sunderland hang on?'

But, in truth, Everton are pretty dire right now aren't they. Their season ended in injury time at Wembley a couple of weeks back.

The Blues have seen 70% of the ball in the second half but don't seem to pack a punch.

  2. goal

    GOALpublished at 51 mins

Norwich 3-2 Watford - Odion Ighalo

Yes for Odion Ighalo, shake that negativity off your back son.

He can't miss, not even in the kind of form he's in. Running on to a Troy Deeney pull-back and eight yards out, it's easy pickings and he slams one into the net. Questionable defending but if we were to analyse the defending in this game, we'd need to cut down a forest to have enough paper.

Ighalo is back in the goals and Norwich are back on the ropes.

  3. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    Sunderland 2-0 Everton

No sitting back just yet it seems for Sunderland as they start the second half on the front foot. The brilliantly named Wahbi Kazhri swings in a corner and Jan Kirchhoff MUST SCORE... no. He glances a header wide from seven yards. That was a great chance.

  4. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    Norwich 3-1 Watford

I feel for Norwich here, they must have seen the score at half-time. Maybe Alex Neil smashed the TV up before they reached the changing room. Either way, they are back at it and John Ruddy easily holds a Jurado shot from range.

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:47 British Summer Time 11 May 2016

    Liverpool 0-1 Chelsea

Asmir Begovic is brave to turn away a James Milner delivery and Emre Can prods the ball back at an exposed net but only finds the foot of Baba Rahman who slams clear. There's the whistle. Eden Hazard's goal worthy of a half-time lead - sublime.

  7. Postpublished at 20:46 British Summer Time 11 May 2016

    Norwich 3-1 Watford

I should have known tonight would bring a load of goals at one time. The last time I did Norwich on a live text this season they lost 5-4 with the last kick and I wrote the report about four times. Selfish club Norwich, I'll be glad to see the back of them.

That's a joke by the way. I love the yellow kit and they've been involved in some cracking games this season.

  8. Postpublished at 41 mins

    Liverpool 0-1 Chelsea

Cesc Fabregas receives a quick free-kick and zings one wide from 30 yards. Simon Mignolet went to scream at his defence for switching off but he then thought better of it. Go on Simon, back yourself, let it fly.

Anonymity: Sunderland's salvation could mean Martinez's personal relegation from the Premier League.

Derek Bish: Well, Kone got hold of that one! May have killed Robles if he'd got in the way of it

Alex Yates: Forget Vardy's party, I want to go to big Sam's party!

  10. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Liverpool 0-1 Chelsea

Jurgen Klopp does not look a happy man one bit. He's waving his arms and has that stiff-jaw look he sometimes adopts. It's a look of anger, like he wants to chew but can't. Like he wants to yell but can't quite process the words through his iron-clad jaw.

    He's saving it for half-time.

  11. Postpublished at 38 mins

    Liverpool 0-1 Chelsea

Bertrand Traore has the chance to double Chelsea's lead at Anfield as he's in behind the defence at the Kop End. He pulls the ball back on to his left peg and tries to curl one into the far corner but looks for too much bend and it's wide.

    Norwich 3-1 Watford

    Pat Nevin
Ex-Chelsea winger for BBC Radio 5 live

"They have not only scored the three goals, Steven Naismith had a one-on-one and they have hit the post. Norwich are going down, but they could be 5-1 up here, that's how mad it is tonight."

  13. Postpublished at 20:37 British Summer Time 11 May 2016

    Sunderland 2-0 Everton

    Kevin Kilbane
Ex-Everton winger on BBC Radio 5 live

"The first goal goes in and Everton crumble and they were defensively poor for the second. Sunderland couldn't do any more. It was a brilliant half - they have done everything Sam Allardyce required from them."

  14. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:34 British Summer Time 11 May 2016

    Sunderland 2-0 Everton

Of all the entries in this live text so far, this is the one you need to digest.

Sunderland, as things stand, will be safe by 21:40 BST and both Newcastle United and Norwich will be down.

The Black Cats surrendered a lot of early ball against Everton but took their chances when they came. A Patrick van Aanholt free-kick, a Lamine Kone blast and suddenly, the survival experts are on the brink of pulling out another corking escape.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:34 British Summer Time 11 May 2016

    Norwich 3-1 Watford

A fine, gutsy display by Norwich to come back from a goal down but alas, the next entry in this live text will probably mean it's a meaningless night at Carrow Road.

  16. goal

    GOALpublished at 32 mins

Liverpool 0-1 Chelsea - Eden Hazard

If Lamine Kone's goal was industrial in it's nature, this one was artistic.

Eden Hazard - the old Eden Hazard before he went off the boil somewhat - kinks and weaves like a slalom skier and eventually finds himself on the edge of the area. After beating several men, he has the composure to just curl a low one into the corner at the Kop End.

That's the type of goal which would look good in a Paris St-Germain shirt if you know what I mean.

  17. goal

Sunderland 2-0 Everton - Lamine Kone

A Big Sam goal if ever there was one.

Corner, headed clear, kept alive by Yann M'Vila and there in the six-yard box is that predator - Lamine Kone (well, not quite).

He spins and lashes one into the roof of the net, he nearly bursts the onion bag. Allardyce is arms aloft, like a man who has just beat his kids at crazy golf.

Dear oh dear. Newcastle in the Championship?

  18. Postpublished at 20:27 British Summer Time 11 May 2016

    Sunderland 1-0 Everton

"Are you watching, are you watching, are you watching Newcastle."

No guessing who is singing that.

Big Sam has a smile as wide as the Tyne.

  19. goal

    GOALpublished at 39 mins

Sunderland 1-0 Everton - Patrick van Aanholt

    What a huge goal.

    Patrick van Aanholt, Sunderland's left-back, curls a free-kick home from 20 yards.

It's from a central area and it goes clean through the Everton wall. Could such weak defending be the difference between Sunderland staying up and going down?

They won't care a jot how it went in, it did, and that's all that matters.

    Newcastle, you are going down.

  20. goal

    GOALpublished at 37 mins

Norwich 3-1 Watford - Craig Cathcart OG

Hats off to Norwich, like a brave bunch they are keeping their end of the bargain.

Wes Hoolahan is released down the left and crosses low. Craig Cathcart - stretching - with a textbook own goal. Only one place that was going.

He probably knew not to dangle a leg at it but that little voice in his head said "go on, you know you want to."

    Own goal.
