Alan Shearer will have earned himself a pint tonight, no matter what happens. The England striker is working hard up top, harrying the Germany defenders into a mistake. They're not making any.

Someone call security! There's a bloke yawning in front of Pele. Pele! No way to act in front of the great man. Yawning during such an exciting game is also an offence in my eyes. Throw the book at him.

Come on England! Roar the Wembley crowd (because I work for the BBC and am completely unbiased). Good spell for the men in grey, Gazza wriggling past a few German defenders, but seeing his cross headed clear at the far post.
