Johnny Magrinho: Am I the only one who is not impressed with this Spain side? They're so predictable. All the ball but not much else.

David Simpson: Distinctive lack of players in the box for Spain in every attack. Same old story...

There has been some booing in the stadium.

Why? Apparently it's aimed at Spain fans who have not been joining in a Mexican wave. Eventually they do and a cheer breaks out. We're all friends here.

It's a hard grind for Czech Republic. They win the ball in their own half and Tomas Rosicky finds Tomas Necid. He has his back to goal on halfway and tries to bend a ball out wide for his only support but it's desperate and wayward.

When they get the ball they are so deep and focused defensively that there are no outlets.

The longer this game stays at 0-0 the more you think have Spain got a Plan B?

When the build-up play creates shooting space you really don't want the shot to fall to Sergio Busquets. He's picked out by Nolito to volley from 25 yards and smashes one about 30ft too high.

As we can see by looking at the average positions, Spain are pushing right up such is their dominance but notably, while their defenders are spending most of their time near the halfway line, their front men are also quite deep.

It's a tight block, summing up the way the side in red are faced by Czech shirts.

Cesc Fabregas forces a corner and so far it's behind the full-backs where Spain are getting most joy.

The Czechs came through a tough group, beating Netherlands twice to progress with Iceland. Turkey came third and won through the play-offs.

Spain build and build and ironically it's when their move breaks down that a chance comes. The half clearance gets bumped back forward to Alvaro Morata who shoots hard and low with his left foot across goal to draw a tip wide from Petr Cech.

Spain have been very good in possession but in the final third they have been a bit lacklustre.

They had that one chance from Morata. Nolito keeps coming inside, Silva is on the fringes of the game so it has been very Spain-like - good possession but no cutting edge in the game.

Cesc Fabregas, to David Silva, nothing on... to Andres Iniesta who has his head up and wants a pass, there it is... brilliant ball to pick out Juanfran in the area but his marker stays with him and does enough. That was half a chance. Such was the ping on the ball from Iniesta that Juanfran couldn't quite get it under control with his first touch.

Jaroslav Plasil in midfield for Czech Republic is going to have a long day chasing. He could do without being hacked down by Sergio Busquets as he is here.

Czech Republic started quite brightly if you are just joining us. They forced early corners but things have settled now and back come Spain. Gerard Pique is on the ball and assessing options.

There was of course a highly-charged defeat in Slovakia but that aside Spain were perfect in qualifying. A number of pundits don't think this side can match what has come before as some of the old legends retire but if qualifying is anything to go by, it's hardly a crisis.

Ramos and Pique's average position has been like defensive midfield players, three yards into the Czech Republic half.

Andres Iniesta down the left, he ducks and dives trying to wriggle into space and a sliding tackle wins Spain's second corner. David Silva will take it and picks out Gerard Pique but he's backing away from goal and can only loop a header into the hands of Petr Cech.

Familiar story as Spain are having plenty of the ball but it's still goalless...

Cesc Fabregas is seeing more ball than anyone with 24 touches so far.

Juan Fran whips a ball in but Alvaro Morata is beaten to it and Spain will build again.

It's the pattern we all expected as Jordi Alba gallops forward to force a corner.

It is instinctive from Cech. Morata didn't get great contact and it just hit Cech.

It has been a bit more dynamic from Spain in the past few minutes.

    Spain 0-0 Czech Republic

What a chance for Spain, Alvaro Morata should be off and running for the tournament. It's wonderful build-up as you'd expect. A cross-field pass allows Juan Fran to slip David Silva in and his ball across the six-yard box is met by Morata but the effort just hits Petr Cech in the middle of the goal. A yard either side and it cannot be saved.

You just feel if Spain get a goal early the Czech Republic will have to come out and that will give more space for Spain.

The pattern is set for the game, Czech Republic will sit deep and Spain will have all the possession
