He should have scored. It is great save by Darren Randolph, but what an opportunity for Emil Forsberg. He just needs to take his time.

  2. CLOSE!published at 50 mins

    Republic of Ireland 1-0 Sweden

Sweden swing it over, Darren Randolph makes a save from the first header, and then Emil Forsberg somehow misses the target from about eight yards out. What a miss. Ireland under pressure.

Sweden look to respond quickly and Ciaran Clark is forced to clear, a little too closely to his own goal. Corner to Sweden.

It is a cracking goal. Wes Hoolahan made it look very easy.

Seamus Coleman did very well and just hangs it up. Hoolahan with his right foot as well, a cracking goal.

How good was that? Great play by Seamus Coleman. He kept his nerve, got past the defender and looked up before delivering for a great finish. Fantastic technique from Wes Hoolahan.

    Wes Hoolahan

Seamus Coleman weaves his way down the right, into the penalty area and clips it over to Wes Hoolahan, who cracks in a half-volley which no keeper in the world could stop. Great strike.

  7. GOOD SAVE!published at 47 mins

    Republic of Ireland 0-0 Sweden

Jeff Hendrick is at it again. He has been great at picking up the loose balls in midfield and drills a low shot, which again Andreas Isaksson is equal to.

We've got two good headers of the ball up front and two willing runners. That is how Ireland have got into the game. Glenn Whelan has played the job well of keeping Zlatan Ibrahimovic quiet.

Just watching the highlights of the half, and Jeff Hendrick has arguably been Ireland's most creative force. He drew that early save and then hit the bar.

I like watching Robbie Brady, too, he has a wand of a left foot.

  17. 'Not impressed'published at 17:49 British Summer Time 13 June 2016

    Republic of Ireland 0-0 Sweden

    Chris Waddle
Former England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

I don't think it has been very impressive. Neither team can look after the ball, no movement, set pieces might win it.

    John O'Shea should have scored.

Both teams have struggled to put passes together. There is nothing happening in the final third.

    Alan Shearer
    Ex-England captain on BBC One

Ireland have been brilliant. They can be really pleased. They were intense, got to Sweden from the start and have created chances - which I hope they don't regret putting away. We have seen nothing from Sweden.

  20. HALF-TIMEpublished at 17:47 British Summer Time 13 June 2016

Time for another chance for Ireland? Seamus Coleman takes the throw-in, works it Wes Hoolahan but his cross is cleared. Time for another throw-in on the other side? No.

Good half for the Irish. Just need a goal.
