Outrageous effort! Romania winger Gabriel Torje lines up a free-kick which is nearer the halfway line than the penalty box, must be 40 yards out. Everyone expects the cross, there's not even a wall, but he shoots, swerves it and Yann Sommer has to get over and push it away! Wonderful hit. 

Switzerland have a target now and it's stretching the game. A cross comes in and Breel Embolo gets there to head the ball wide. Game changer?

A Swiss fan was telling me last weekend that Breel Embolo would be in the Premier League within 12 months. We shall see. He's built like a middleweight boxer and cites Mario Balotelli as his hero. That's enough for me - get him in.

"It'll be interesting to see when Switzerland decide to make changes. Vladimir Petkovic must be happy with the way his team played in the first half -  they created plenty of chances - so there's no need for him to make any too quickly. But I do expect Breel Embolo will come on."

Both sides look such a threat until they can see the whites of the keeper's eyes. Lovely link-up from the Swiss this time ends with Stoke winger Xherdan Shaqiri bearing in on the right - but his shot is blocked and deflected up and away.
